Can we pin this for the board?

Kind of a mix between religious teachings and the belief that people should strive to cause the least harm to others and the community. I guess some of that is empathy and compassion too.

Quite frankly properly taken I believe my religious teachings say that.

None of the Above.

If it makes my penis tingly: Good
If it makes my penis flaccid: Bad

Everything else becomes a judgement call for the Brain to figure out.

I went with "rational reasoning and logic". That guides pretty much everything for me - often to the chagrin of my family.

To me, using logic as the basis for your morality removes a lot of the "squishier" emotions and beliefs that cloud an otherwise straightforward issue.

I didn't see the Golden Rule on the list. Final answer.

The human conscience is a God-given natural feeling
which prompts people to do what they believe is right
and avoid what they believe is wrong.

Religious teaching of the 10 commandments helps us to
know that murder, adultery, stealing, slander are wrong.
Parental instruction helps children to know right from
wrong as well as to treat all people with respect & dignity.

Bottom Line: Our conscience, our religious teaching, and our
parental instruction overlap as we decide our personal morality.

To be honest, so many of these things are so intertwined that I'm not sure you can really respond by identifying one.

This poll question is almost as poorly designed as the Biden phone bank push poll I played along with for a while yesterday.

I did kind of a take what I want and leave what I could manage with Catholicism. You want to leave the shame/guilt as easily as the sacraments and saints but good luck shaking them unless you went to public school. Much easier to do the take what I want and leave the rest with AA which is just like a more simplified Catholicism with a more positive message
