Porter Moser will have his pick of jobs

This thread is hilarious to look back through all the responses as to why the guy would stay at Loyola. Then he ends up going to Oklahoma. An ok destination, but hardly a premier program. I guess his standards were a lot lower than others wanted to set for him.

The last time he took Loyola to the Sweet Sixteen, he literally said he never wanted to coach anywhere else. I guess he changed his mind.

Money talks for all these mid-major guys. Say how much you love the school and won't go anywhere else to get some juice behind your extension / raise but have your agent taking every call. Whether he is successful or not, he will make enough bank in the next 3-5 years + buyout if it comes to that to be set for life. He can always get a mid-major gig if OU doesn't work out.

I gotta say Oklahoma would not be very high on the list if I was an up and coming basketball coach....

I am not a huge fan of the Sooners, obviously, but outside of Texas, they are the premier athletic department in the Big 12.

They have been up and down in the Big 12 recently, but certainly have had their share of success on the hardwood. And they didn’t play that badly against the Zags in the NCAAs, which is saying something.

On a per capita basis, it's St. Louis/East St. Louis, AINEC.

Chicago isn't even in the top 30.

Moser is 52 years old, not exactly 'up and coming'. OU was a surprise when announced but that is still a really nice gig and big step up from the MVC.
