Jewell, King, Vandy, Kittle (despite the hold call). Otherwise everyone was pretty flat. L. Daniels needs to learn to block. Horrible on blitz pickup.
I'm positive we got our asses whipped on both sides of the line of scrimmage.
I'm positive Iowa was out coached.
King's tomahawk chop to cause the fumble was almost the play of the game. If only the ball had made it into the end zone untouched, sigh.

Thought the defensive line did a good job on the pass rush. They didn't make many plays against the run though.

Agree! Took a lot of guts to make that touch throw, fresh in off the bench in the 2nd half of a close game. And while we're ripping on the coaching staff, a great play call, too.

And it didnt happen with gimmicks from NDSU.
The DTs couldn't hold the LOS , the LBs and Safeties didn't wrap up when they tackled, which led to them getting trucked on numerous occasions (particularly the Safeties)
The OL couldn't open up holes or protect the QB.
The RBs couldn't block a ham sammich.
This team will lose to MICH, WIS and NEB. They might even lose to another team or 2 that we should beat.
I heard a new study suggests that added sugar is more detrimental to heart health than saturated fats so I guess that's a positive?
If I were a betting man, I'd put a wager against your prediction. I think we beat at least one, and probably two, between Michigan, Wisconsin, and Nebraska.
Wisconsin looked awful at home against GA State today, BTW.
Do you mean because of the burgers or from watching Iowa's last offensive series?
We got beat at the LOS so badly, I'm not sure what changes you make to keep it from happening again and again. Look at the numbers. We got beat badly in the trenches.
I'm concerned about MN, WI, PSU, MI, and NB at this point. How are the Hawks gonna stop the run? All of those teams likely have better running games than NDSU. That could be five more losses this year. I wouldn't bet on it, but I'm a lot more concerned now than I was before seeing that performance today. Even Illinois doesn't look like a gimme.
Not all losses are equal. This didn't happen because of some fluke plays or turnovers. We failed to do what is usually the staple of KF coached Iowa teams. Run the ball and stop the run.
Like someone said above, playing with an edge makes a difference. As much as we tried to take this game seriously, I don't think our guys played with the kind of edge they'll have against Big 10 competition. Furthermore, we were without a couple of our best OL, which hurt.
Football is a crazy game. I'm sure you know the transitive property has zero application in this sport. The Hawks will have a chip on their shoulder with something to prove -- much like NDSU was today. I'll be quite surprised if we don't beat at least one of those three. Plus, I don't think WI is all that good, anyway.
I'm not calling for anyone's job or saying we can't compete. I don't overreact to wins/losses unless I see something this glaring.
I don't think any of those teams are that good. But they typically play well at the LOS. Something I'm not sure we are capable of after watching today's game.
I thought your post above was on the money, except for your prediction. Things aren't as bad as many Iowa fans are saying today. I'm confident that this team is a good bit better than many are saying this afternoon. I think that will be borne out in the Big Ten season. We shall see.
Positives are that michigan and Wisky and Nebby are still undefeated and maybe we get a shot to beat them.. No after watching this game I know thats a long shot but it's still possible!
O boy! Overpriced double burgers served cold at 12 dollars a meal if you get fries and a drink. Better off to go to Red Robin or Dubuque Mining Company.
The actual positive is that this loss doesn't really mean anything unless we win the B1G at 2 losses and that lets another P5 or lesser team into the playoffs.
I guess it really does suck given our rank and expectations. But were those realistic anyway?

I'm sure it was said, if even addressed, that he just didn't fit into what they were doing today..
I would say run defense is glaring?? Lack of tackling?? Both are correctable tho...we cannot compete with expectations?? That has been glaring since KF got here!! Not the end of the world...there are personnel issues on defense and we will struggle with the run until they make some changes!
That's exactly how I feel and why I am here getting a little bent outta shape over what I saw today. Getting beaten at the LOS so badly is "glaring". Lack of tackling is "glaring". Our Safety play is "glaring". I stated as much in other posts before the one you quoted. We are on the same page, you and I.
