Since the end of GoT we watched Chernobyl which was amazing. We have since cut the cord and could not be happier with YouTube tv. Once in a while I wonder what original programming I might be missing out on and if it is worth getting on HBO NOW. We have always had Netflix and gotten prime steaming through prime. We also have always had Hulu and ESPN plus, and now disney plus because it is only and extra $2 per month with the bundle. So our bases for movies are otherwise covered so it just comes down to the original content.

It has been fantastic for me. Succession and Watchmen. I heard Barry is good. I do enjoy Bill Maher as well. With all of these streaming options, I think I will get a credit card with a 100 dollar limit and whore it out for one month for each site so I can watch a series or two for a given month and dump the site. Some even offer a free month.

In GoT news HBO dumped the prequel as they did not like the pilot. Going to a Targ prequel with Martin involved. Dragons!

I really liked Succession and Barry. But I just canceled HBO and will wait a few months until I am ready to binge watch a few series to start it back up. Nobody else watches those shows in my family so it's easy to just add and drop based on my viewing habits.

HBO is rolling out a new streaming service next year. It will offer everything on HBO plus stuff from Cinemax, and the Warner Brothers archives and more all for the same price HBO alone costs today, around $15.

Uhhhh...will that include Cinemax After Dark?

Personally, I bailed after GOT. I just didn’t watch it enough to justify the expense.

It's not--there are several websites available where you can find the content for free.

Barry and The Righteous Gemstones for me.

I’m also rewatching The Wire and will likely do the same with Veep soon.

I just picked up HBO again through HBO Now. Watched the first episode of the Watchmen last night. It was very good. Not familiar with the comics, so I had to google/wiki it. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

I get it free through my AT&T account, so seems worth it, but yeah there's been some good shows still.

Chernobyl was great, if you were a fan of the Watchmen comic then you'll really like their take on the Watchmen (If not, it's a bit weird). I haven't started yet, but I'm really excited for their take on the Golden Compass as well.

Ah yes, brings back fond memories of a young Pink Shizzle sneaking downstairs and watching Skinemax with the volume off to avoid waking the parents. Good times. Simple times, but good times.

I am enjoying both Watchmen and His Dark Materials currently. Not sure about what's coming after these seasons end and if i'll keep HBO afterwards for $15/month. If it was $10 it would be an easier decision.

And for us older posters, we had a cable box like the one pictured below. The pay channels were scrambled. But my buddies and I tried so hard to get the slide just in between channels to try to unscramble them to see boobs. Kids these days with their phones and google have no idea how hard we had to work for it back in the 80s...

HBO is included along with basic Comcast through my HOA dues. We recently cut the remaining upcharges from Comcast and are using YoutubeTV. It is a total savings of roughly $30/month. I use the HBOGo app to watch their content.

I haven't been a fan of some of the movies lately, but their series content is phenomenal. Heck, even their discontinued series are outstanding.

No need to pay for HBO anymore,... seems like they do free weekends about every other month...

Truth. You could do a lot with that dial on the right.

I once tried to get the parents to order Cinemax by giving them a homemade certificate for a free month. They didn’t fall for it. :(

I would add Crashing to the list of HBO shows that I enjoyed. Unfortunately it’s only a couple seasons long. Has cameos from a lot of big time comedians - Hannibal Buress, Sarah Silverman, John Mulaney, Bill Burr, Dave Attell, etc.

lol, I'll never forget sitting in my room late at night listening to the porn on the scrambled channels and then getting excited for the 10 second flashes where you could actually see what was happening.

Oh for the first night I ever saw bodypainting. lol

yes. They have great series and limited series.
Watchmen has been really good, his Dark Materials, Silicon Valley, all current and good.

Westworld is coming back, which I enjoy.
The Outsider with batemen looks good.

In addition to all of the new series already mentioned, I am watching The Sopranos for the first time. I didn't have HBO when it was originally on. It's worth the $14.99 to me.

Watchmen has been exceptional. I still prefer The Boys ever so slightly as my favorite superhero show, but it’s right up there with Daredevil, season one of Jessica Jones, Legion and Preacher.

Great idea. I never watched it the first time but it seems to be the most highly regarded show HBO has put out.

I really liked Crashing. Disappointed it ended. Also enjoyed High Maintenance.

I've been wondering about that, myself. I don't think so. I've got Netflix and Amazon Prime.

I would recommend disney+. There is some original that is worth the extra $2 a month we're paying for it, such as the Mandalorian and Encore.

I started watching His Dark Materials. Very entertaining. HBO does indeed have some quality stuff post-GoT.
