What made it even cooler of course is he was an Indiana kid. It would have been almost like Alford leaving and them coming to Iowa and putting the dagger to the Hoosiers!

Good memories, Recker was money. Breaks my heart that he hurt his knee and was never the same. There are so many sad stories like that in Iowa basketball.

My memory is pretty fuzzy on that. Luke came to Iowa from Arizona correct? Can't remember the circumstances, just that he had to walk on.

Yes, he was set to transfer to AZ from Indiana when he was in a bad car wreck with his girlfriend. He then decided to transfer to IA to be closer to his Dad (who lived in Iowa) and I think his girlfriend, who was getting treatment somewhere in the vicinity. At least that is the story as I recall it.

That sounds like it. I do remember the car wreck now, and him wanting to be closer to his Dad.
