I'm as pissed as everyone else but after some deep breaths and lifting some weights I'm good and can now think clearly. This team over achieved from what the preseason forecast predicted. Don't lose sight of that.

I do thankfully. Was looking forward to watching them tomorrow but oh well. Maybe a few extra days of rest helps them next week? Would love to fall to a 10 seed but we'll be stuck on the 9. Book it.
Who gives a **** about predictions. Results matter. Fran doesn’t produce results. How is there any optimism going forward with his roster? We are going to lose our best player Rebraca next year.

Everything is still ahead for this program. No one gives a shit about the BTT or senior day. Yah its cool, but quickly forgotten once the tourney hits.
I'm not thinking of next year perhaps they make moves we don't know about yet? The same anger could be said about a year ago with us a fringe NCAA tourney team as it looked on paper and we are a lock on selection Sunday. Don't lose perspective.

I do think we are stuck on either the 8 or 9. Only good thing about that is there's a chance we could end up in Des Moines opposite #1 seed Kansas.
This team needs to get back to Iowa City and put up shots with that Wilson ball.
But the way this team is shooting from 3? We better not be shooting too many of them next week

Can't argue that. Yep. So close yet so far away. A come to Jesus moment for them maybe happens with a long weekend ahead? I fear we are a 9 seed so it won't likely matter playing the murder accomplice Crimson Tide in 2nd rd.

I don't normally base my satisfaction level based on exceeding expectations. If there ever was such a typical FRan team, this would be it. Around 0.500 in B1G, lose 1st game in BTT to lower seeded team. NCAA appearance but not much hope of making any noise.

We over achieved based on preseason analysis as hard as it seems to realize that today. Kris isn't Keagan and we aren't as good from 3 so not sure how you thought that but I like the optimism.
Idk man. I thought they’d come out with their asses on fire today after Nebraska, but it was the same ol. Defensively they came out fine, but it went to non existent again when it matters most. Just isn’t something you can turn on when it’s not emphasized and it’s definitely not under Fran
So did I and also thought the same when I brought 6 of us to Carver on Sunday and here we are.
I think what ticks me off the most is dropping the winnable games, and having multiple opportunities to put those teams away. When they are expected to win, they play not to lose.
These last 2 are unacceptable. Then to say we want the ncaa tournament. Why? What has caused you to believe your nothing but a 1 & done?

I think when you really look at it, what do we not have that many of the good teams do?
* coaching - Frans teams have never been known for defense. Rotations are odd to say the least. Adjustments? What adjustments?
* athletes - the only 2 athletes we have on this team are Murray and Perkins. Bowen will be good if he stays. We need athletic big men!! We ALWAYS run into trouble when we play long and athletic teams.
* Recruiting - Is terrible!!
Anyway, we will not make a run in the big dance, so don't lose your s*** when it happens. We may win the first one. There are tons of really good, athletic, and well coached teams out there. Sadly, we aren't one of them.

We're not mad that they met our expectations.......we're just disappointed they couldn't do better.
Keegan is obviously the better player but it's amazing how people ignore that Keegan had JBo and Kris to take the heat off of him as far who the defense could focus on....much better supporting cast. That team had enough depth that Fran was only playing CM a much more reasonable 17 mins a game, not 30
This was a much thinner bench that's for sure. Mulberry and the Big O are obviously not Big caliber players. Ulis has no offense and neither does Conner, so 5 on 3 to start every game, then when we sub the defense drops even more with Sandy and Patrick. If they are not hot from 3 it's a net loss. Recruit, recruit, recruit...
