Houston is one of those programs that could keep an elite coach. Great recruiting grounds. They might spend the money to keep him and he could elevate a program like Houston. Especially if they end up in a P5 conference.Houston when Herman jumps to a blue blood

Briles would at least have a good QB in Baton Rouge. Something they've been lacking since the last time they played Iowa. When you have a good QB you have a chance.I'm not so sure Briles is an upgrade over Les Miles. He's a brilliant offensive mind, but he has to score 45 points to beat his opponents in a league where defense is optional. Unless he's serious about hiring a top-notch DC and deferring all defensive decisions, LSU would probably end up at the same destination (bunch of 9-3, 10-2 type seasons), but using an alternate route to get there.

Mettenberger was injured and didn't start the last time LSU played Iowa. LSU's QB play has been bad ever since. They've had Matt Flynn and Mettenberger since we've played them, both have started in the NFL.. there's been other solid quarterbacks like Jeffries.
