Savvy politicians who know how to celebrate a win were on display today in Covington, KY, as plans to replace an aging bridge over the Ohio River go forward thanks to the bi-partisan infrastructure bill that was passed in 2022. The aging I-75 bridge carries double the traffic it was originally envisioned to carry, and is believed to see almost 3 percent of the US GDP cross over it every year.
The back drop is complete dysfunction in the GOP controlled House.

Ironically much of the new investment related to the infrastructure bill , the Inflation Reduction Act and Chips bill will be flowing to SEC country. Electric auto makers have committed to spending more than 30 billion this year almost all in GA, Tenn, Kentucky and Texas.
The Biden agenda will provide huge ecomic benefits to the states that hate him.
Shame that Kim Reynolds and the Iowa GOP have hollowed out Iowa's skilled labor force and infrastructure to the point that these auto companies do not even consider Iowa.

Some people hate it when America wins versus having another shot at airing grievances. America needs roads, bridges, port improvements...

Of course we do,.. What we don't need is Biden & McConnell back slapping each other for managing to spend our money to do this necessary improvement..

Wait - we don't need signs of the parties actually working together? GTFO.

McConnell walking back on the obstructionism he has led for years is a good thing for the country. It needs to be repeated many, many, many times however.

No we don't,.. They spent our money to do something that we needed done,.. That's not a personal accomplishment for Joe and Mitch, that's them simply doing their job.

They just needed to waste tax payer money for a photo op.

Actually, you do. In our system of government, like it or not, the legislators demand a victory lap for passing major legislation. It’s how it works.

So you don't understand the concept of figureheads or representation. Got it.

In case you hadn't noticed, the divisions sowed by McConnell and company have made it really hard to get things done over the past decade plus. This is at least a sign that those divisions could ease going forward which is a reason for optimism.

My guess is you're one of those, like the 20 or so in the House, that don't want the government to function.
