Press Conference Tough Questions For Urban Meyer

Watching the press conferences on the Big Ten Network, I was surprised at the questions directed at Urban Meyer. One was, did the Iowa coaches out coach you ? Another was what are you going to do about how bad one of your assistant coaches did. I remember how irritated Hayden Fry was when the press asked him a tough question and he would fire back at being questioned. Urban Meyer answered the questions without taking it personal

The guy looked and sounded like he really wanted to be there.

He handled that very well. Of course, he wasn't enthused about answering those questions, but he didn't seem to be defensive like so many coaches.

I don't like Urban, but I would've loved it if he would've just answered the first of the stupid questions with "look, we got our butts whooped. We'll work on it every day to get better but Saturday we were 'out-everythinged'. Next question".

I think 98% of fans would've respected and liked it. Just the reporters who wanted to ask the same question in a different way would've been offended.

I liked how he kept trying to steer the discussion towards MSU....the media was having none of it. He may still be fielding questions about this game in December.

OSU getting stomped by Iowa is about the same order of magnitude as Iowa losing to N. Dakota St on a last second field goal. It's just hard for them to get their heads around it.

They might want to learn to get used to it. The simple answer is for Oh St to call in sick when they’re scheduled to play at Kinnick.
