Previewing Iowa vs Iowa State WBB

I'm not betting this one either way. Unless there's a way to bet on Clark getting a lot of points.

Bet on that, you might as well bet on the clones to win, as that seems to be the trend. Seems ISU is playing better ball right now, I think I'd lay the money on them.
If Soares & Donarski get into foul trouble, the hawks win. Donarski will check Clark and Soares will be on MC.

Win or lose, can we all agree to not call out any ISU players in an unnecessary, hateful fashion tomorrow?

I'm only asking b/c, win or lose, ISU fans will certainly be throwing barbs at everyone. No matter the outcome, they'll call Clark a ballhog, they'll call everyone else garbage, they'll call Bluder some weird ass nickname...let's remember we're the big brother (sister? :)) here and try to rise above it. They've clearly got an inferiority complex, but we don't have to act like we do too. Let's remember they're kids and lots of them are friends regardless of mascot.

what betting site has ncaa women’s basketball?…… serious question cause I’ve looked never found one that does

Marshall either needs to play better or grab a seat on the bench. Iowa loses if she continues to play like she has all season.

Bluder should have known the team's weaknesses and addressed them. No defense or rebounding.

I want to see Taylor McCabe get more minutes. Both her and Gabbie Marshall have made 7 3's on the season even though Gabbie has played 206 more minutes than Taylor.

Caesars Sportsbook will likely have a line on the game but it’s not up yet. ESPN uses Caesars line on their website. You can usually see it there once published.

Bluder said this game will come down to execution but I think it'll come down to defense. If either team can elevate their defensive performance such that they trip up the other team's otherwise stellar offense, it's likely enough to win this game.

Against UConn Iowa's supporting cast was excellent, but UConn took Czinano away and Clark didn't shoot well. The defensive effort was generally good. Iowa beats Iowa State if these results were replicated tonight, but the supporting cast probably won't ever play that well again either.

Against NC State Clark was excellent, but Czinano couldn't get the ball and the supporting cast ranged from bad to terrible. The defensive effort was terrible. Iowa loses to Iowa State by double digits with a similar performance tonight.

Defensively, we need to see effort all night. Iowa State is a great offensive team. If our defense isn't there, the only way we beat them is if we score 90+.

Offensively, the biggest question is how big a role does Czinano play? If she doesn't get many shots, everyone else has to play well or we lose. If she gets hers, then we can afford for Martin/Marshall/the bench not to score much.

Its time for Stuelke to start getting some double doubles! I really like her potential.
I could see her having an opportunity to put up some numbers tonight tbh. ISU is an experienced, disciplined team, but not the most athletic. If she stays out of foul trouble and plays smart (it's not fair to expect her to play like an upperclassman overnight, but it's reasonable to expect improvement as the season goes on), she could very well have some big plays tonight. Whether we capitalize on those plays as a team, however, is more likely to determine the final score.

Personally, I think 155.5 is right on target. Last nine years the average score is 76-69 (145) and last year was 77-70 (147). I wouldn’t feel confident of either side of the O/U.
Well as they say, they don't find a way to build all of the palaces in Vegas because they're stupid.

Would you agree ISU is more athletic than Iowa?
I honestly don’t know, I’ve really only seen them play us and Creighton last year. I’m not so much comparing them to us, moreso the elite teams out there like UConn, MD, SC that typically wipe the floor with teams like both of us. They’re certainly not at that level, and neither are we, so I think there’s an opportunity for us to outplay them. I may very well be wrong and they may very well wipe the floor with us as well.
