For each and every Hawkeye player and coach; THANK YOU !!
Your effort and teamwork was INCREDIBLE yesterday. You impress us over and over.
There were many stars in this game. We could all list them, but as usual, the ENTIRE SQUAD won this game. The players are leaving it all out there folks.
Yes, we have been hobbled with injuries, but the players continue to return to the field and demonstrate to us all - they are HAWKEYES - tough, smart, dedicated athletes representing themselves and the university in their efforts. I could not be prouder of them.
The Hawks may lose some games, but it will never be for lack of effort or desire. Stay solidly behind this team fans and spectators. Our coaches and players need to know their efforts are appreciated.
If for some reason, you thought the Illini was a weak team (4-1) and coaching issues would hamstring them, you were incorrect. Their head coach is highly respected and his team didn't come to Kinnick to lose. They wore down at the end, and lost players to injuries also, but gave Iowa ALL they could handle. Kudos to them also.
I'm amazed at our accomplishments thus far, as many of us are. Thanks Hawkeyes. We now realize your dedication .
