Eat a sub, help your community. No brainer.

The campaign culminates in the nationwide event, Day of Giving, on Wednesday, March 26, when local Jersey Mike’s owners and operators will donate every single dollar that comes in to local charities.

At the first nationwide fundraiser in 2011, all of Jersey Mike’s 454 locations raised $600,000 for 66 charities. Since then, Jersey Mike’s annual Month of Giving has raised more than $113 million for local hundreds of local charities.

This March, Jersey Mike’s hopes to exceed last year’s record-breaking national fundraising total of $25 million and help local charities striving to fulfill their missions and make a difference.

Looks like they donated to Junior Achievements of Eastern Iowa from the coralville store.

Jersey Mike’s is now majority owned by Blackstone, a trillion-dollar private equity firm. They could write a check for $25 million and not even notice it.

I use to love to make this analogy using ratios and perspective back when we had billionaires first cresting 100 billion what that money type of money is like:

A 100 billion is 100,000 millions.

So if they have 100,000 million and decided to, let’s say buy a massive and beautiful lake home in the North Georgia Appalachians for 7 million dollars, that would to them feel like equating to one of us, buying a Quarter Pounder meal at McDonalds with 100k in the bank. And yes I know the money is not as liquid as 100k in checking, but point is, dropping millions to them is like dropping dollar bills.

They’ve been raising funds by having you buy a card for $5 where you get a sub for free when you buy one. Good deal. I’ve gotten a couple of them lately.
