What are you trying to accomplish here with all this bitterness? Franklin is just a football coach. I think he's proven (and not just at PSU but in previous jobs) that he's a really good one. He's not perfect. He's young and really still learning how to manage games on this big stage -- he's gonna make mistakes.
Losing to MSU two years, it's heartbreaking but it doesn't mean Franklin sucks -- MSU is a premier program that doesn't get enough respect. I do agree that Franklin's comments about "great" vs. "elite" were ill advised. All he was trying to say is that PSU has a long way to go before they're anywhere near Ohio State level. But it was the wrong time to say it.
PSU needed to prove it was "good" before anybody could talk about great. Beating a top quality Iowa team at home -- to me that is really good. Beat Michigan and Wisconsin, win out, then they could use the word great. But it's not happening, this team has too many problems.
McSorley is not himself, hasn't been for 3-4 games. And this is a guy who was just incredibly consistent for 3 seasons -- that's how you get a streak of 29 games with a TD pass. The biggest problem is he doesn't have enough talent at wideout this year but I think it's beyond that, I think McSorley has just not been on top of things mentally for a few games. One can only speculate as to why.
I do think he'll snap out of it, and I hope it's this Saturday at Ann Arbor. McSorley played almost a perfect game against Michigan last year so maybe the memory could help him get his mojo back.
