PSU talks a lot of smack for a program that should have gotten death penalty

You said you've been to their boards... obviously you know Paterno was FRAMED! It's a WITCH HUNT!
Its not so much that at this point...its the sense of entitlement that is close to OSU's. Its really nauseating.

Yeah JR, agree with Bryce on this one. If you don't actually acknowledge that your program/school did anything wrong, you can still talk smack.

Let's use some common sense here. The fans were not in the showers. The fans didn't cover it up. PSU fans are just like Iowa fans, they love watching their team play football on Saturday afternoons.

Their former coaches ROYALLY SCREWED UP, nobody is denying that.

So are PSU fans all of a sudden not supposed to root for their team anymore?

Would you just quit the program and start watching a different team?

Give me a break.

The general Penn St fan base is much the same as Nebraska. They are stuck in the past and think their program of the 70's/80's is still playing today.

When the thing you are most remembered for is the 'Sandusky Slap'....you should keep quiet.

Yes.

There are plenty of Hawkeye players and coaches I don't like and never will. Don't follow them, don't care about them, wish they were never here. Remember Pierre Pierce and how many fans abandoned the program, and rightly so? And still haven't come back.

And the PSU fans still worship the man who knew about it and enabled it for DECADES. Sports over people, bad stuff.

I agree with hawkster03 that the Sandusky comments just need to stop.
PSU fans delusions of how the B1G is conspiring against them and how corrupt refs has caused every one of their losses is open game though.

Lol...their board is a great place too. I read it for a while. I think I may still be banned.
No kidding, their board is totally delusional on anything concerning the Hawkeyes. They are talking all kinds of smack about the wave and how it benefits nobody. I just spent 30 minutes (my customers don't show up until noon) reading about the game. There were several Iowa posters that posted really good assessments of the game and just got blasted by some of the Penn (they hate it when you refer to them as Penn) State members. I can't predict the outcome of the game, just looking at a comparison of the Indiana game, it sure looks like Indiana improved 175,000% in one week or Iowa has a good chance of winning the game. Hopefully, Iowa gets 100 plays on offense!! Go Hawkeyes

No, but they should have some damn humility and thank their lucky stars daily.

Penn State fans are awful. The old ones, much like Nebraska fans live 20 years in the past. The younger ones talk about their tradition, and past that they weren't even alive for, yet totally ignore Sandusky, Paterno, or Franklins actions. They get so butt hurt when anyone brings it up too. Almost as funny as the idiot MSU posters that rip us for Rhabdo still, yet totally ignore Larry Nassar, and all the football/basketball sexual assaults the school covered up. Both those schools should no longer have athletic departments, let alone be allowed to stay in the B1G

Call them State Penn and that'll get you escorted out pretty quickly.

Would you just quit the program and start watching a different team?.

Yes. I said at the time the scandal was breaking that had it been Iowa, I would’ve thrown away every piece of gear I had and never watched another game. And I stand by that now.

I can’t fathom how those people have the nerve to show even an ounce of pride in that program.

You were fine until you added the part about nobody denying it. Gees.... have you had your head buried in the sand somewhere. There are a lot of people in "Happy Valley" who still say the Legend Joe Pa got railroaded, and most of this was blown out of proportion.

I still believe the Big Ten and the NCAA should have removed Penn State as a member institution.
The entire athletic department exists because of football, and we all know what horrible things were allowed to continue for the sake of football. Let them see if the NAIA will take them.

If the Iowa coaches/administrators enabled the kind of crimes that those at PSU did I would have no problem finding something else to do during Saturdays in the Fall.

I doubt the fans or players had much influence on whatever happened. The institution is like a lot of other institutions. Look how several schools shuffled Peter Gray around. Essentially covered his deviance up, and let him go elsewhere.

The posters on their board have a certain passive / aggressive nature. A liberal sense of entitlement. They're not East Coast, although some try to be. Philadelphia doesn't comprise the majority of that state. Certainly not all of them can drive Prius' I'm not sure what it is. It's like Nebraska posters. But when you meet their fans in Lincoln, the vast majority are reasonable.

Who cares? We likely have a very, very good 1-3 years of Iowa football ahead.

When I get to Pennsylvania I'll keep a look out for Prius", and report back. We'll all soon have the answer we so desperately desire.

Yeah, we talk about Nebraska's delusion, but there in a whole different dimension there in Happy Valley. Lol

Penn State has 3 big ten titles since Iowa last won one 14 years ago. You can rag on Franklin all you like but, he is a high energy coach with an attention to detail and a great rapport with recruits. He is in the process of putting together back to back top ten recruiting classes after putting together back to back 11 win seasons including a big ten title. I don't think Penn State fans are the ones suffering from delusions around here.

There's a large difference in delusion between Iowa fans thinking they can maybe win a big ten championship going into any given season and PSU fans denying that someone enabled child molestation because he was really good at coaching a sport.

You can think what you want. I'm perfectly comfortable with my admiration of Paterno. He didn't cover up or enable Sandusky in any way. He got crucified for who he was, not what he did.
