PSU

also saw Jimmy Gs stall leg ride. Was humping Ashnaults leg the whole 2nd period.

far as zain and nolf, it's hard to believe how far ahead these guys are from the rest of the field.

I thought the same thing about Jimmy's ride. Then I saw a comment on BWI that Jimmy has found the formula and now just has to execute it. I thought that was pretty funny.

and Nickal not far behind

So glad we have PSU guys to come over and give us results of their match. Mighty neighborly of you DHM and FM
once again chief, I'm Iowa all the way. My coaches were both NCAA champs at ISTC, SCI now UNI. I have a major hump on my nose from Beets Dotson cross face, Gable whipped me in a joint practice when I was 2or 3 weights higher. I just like tough wrestling/wrestlers. Check my posts back 3/4 years. I just want Iowa back there. Now let's watch Nickal.

Guillibon & McC us that stall ride all the time. Just don't get why refs let them ride with ankle like that. In my eyes it is almost worse than dropping to an ankle. The refs have become absolutely gutless when it comes to calling stalling. Guess they have to make a rule with a 5 count for that situation.

Yes, he didn't get beat by as much. What forumula has he found? He didn't take him down and didn't get close to a turn. I have nothing against Jimmy, but he's 7-6 on the season

You're right, it's still a loss. What I do see different this year from Gulibon is that he's wrestling hard to the end. Which didn't seem like it several times last year. I do see improvement, so hopefully that effort starts translating into more wins. I feel for the kid because of the crushing expectations that comes with being a 4 time PA champ.

I thought he would be a 4x AA and compete for titles. Always hard to predict

Two things: When he wants to be (mentally), Jimmy is a very capable wrestler. Also, I don't know if it's the crushing expectations of being a PA 4 timer. He also was very successful on a national level. I think its the fact that he just is not dominant like DT, Ruth, Retherford, Nolf, Bo and had very high expectations for himself to be. But he was never that type of wrestler at PSU even though he had the resume and it stands out. He could have accepted it and wrestled within himself ala Nico and progressively got better or have a tough time dealing with it like the Altons. We've had our share of these guys at Iowa. So for those keeping score, when I have said Guilbon (or anybody else) is a headcase, just know it's not a knock on him because the mental part is a large reason for success in our sport. The best pitchers in baseball or best QBs in football are the ones that cannot automatically flush mistakes and forget them...not take them home with them.

He would have been much better at Lehigh or somewhere else...sucks to be a cog in a machine when you are used to being the driver.

Apparently you need to better establish your credentials on this board ... probably very insulting for an Iowa guy to be mistaken for a PSU fan.

Always though DHM was a PSU fan but also a general wrestling fan that we get over here. Think he and I went at it last year about this as well. Most of his posts are about PSU...Hey, I admire them too as I think a lot of Hawk fans do but there is admiring them and man I wish I could just switch up and get the gear already. But hey, DHM has nothing to prove to me so he's a Hawk fan I guess.

I like Tom Brady...think he's the best ever but if the Chiefs somehow play the Patriots, I hope we kick his f-ing teeth in.

JG is pretty much a write off. If he can back into AA somehow that will be a small miracle. If he can score some points in wrestle backs, that will be good. Hopefully, Nick Lee can give us at least a year at 141 next season. He will be the next future PSU hammer that hawkeyes will need to deal with not named Hall.

That figure 4 on the leg/ankle stall ride pretty much stops all action. Hard to turn a guy while humping his foot at the same time.
Molinaro and McIntosh scored frequently with that ride. Jimmy and McCutcheon just arent as good as those guys. I would agree that, though, that a time limit should be applied to it and maybe stalemated if there isnt a turn.

I thought nickal was going to break gravinas back with that cradle. Jeez

Back to hating PSU.

Think you forget you also have Nick Lee, Manville, Berge, RBY, Busiello, and Whittlake coming in. A lot of hammers for all schools to deal with.

I don't expect all of those guys to start for them
Probably not all 4 years, but I would expect to see all of them get at least a year or two as a starter. Hey, you said something about news a couple of days ago. Know when that good or bad news may happen?

I'd say most not all I know one who I just personally don't think will be as great as some expect.
It sounded like good news but he wouldn't tell me anything past that. Tried to get more out of him but he basically said if what he knew were to get out there it would ruin the situation he has going on over there right now so I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens
