PTL - what if ...

On another thread, I saw @perryhawk lament that there again won't be any PTL this summer for us to preview next year's talent. I agree.🙁

But let's pretend there was. And let's all pretend that we are a coach in the league. Which Hawkeyes would be highest on your PTL draft board wish list?

Great question! Assuming everyone can play all games, and no Weezy, start with Keegan. I could see Kris possibly second.

Rebraca would go top 3. The new kid almost always gets picked highly. But I think that Keagan would be #1.

Because of the style of the PTL game & the limited number of games, I go with a player who might get you 35 the night you need it (JBo) versus Keegan who will get you 25 every night.

I remember Luka and Jacks first year. They tore it up in the PTL. Big guys do good there. I'd take Mulvey.

PTL was great. Kept fans interested in the Hawks for the summer. Gave some insight on players who are new or haven't played much yet... Or not enough... Or will be our new team next year...

Would love to see a summer of Joe T, Ahron Ulis, PMac, KrM, Perkins, Rebraca, KeM, etc, etc

I think I will come down on the "Under 30" for Connor this season. Combination of health and personnel available.

Not sure if he will start but I would be shocked if Connor wasn’t a 30 minute per game player.

He only averaged slightly over 30 in 2019-2020, and that was because Iowa was down to what, 7 players, at one time? CMac is a plug and play player more than anything. With the depth Iowa has at the positions he plays, I don't see him averaging more than the 22.8 minutes he averaged this year. In fact, I could see him dropping to 22 or less with Perkins and Kris M getting more of those minutes. He'll be used more like a utility player in baseball is, filling in because of injury or foul trouble. He'll probably get starts but he'll sit a lot longer unless he can score.

If he gets 30 minutes , he better be a double / double guy, with this roster. I’d be surprised if anyone. Other than possibly Keegan gets 30 minutes

Think Patrick will also be on the floor 30 minutes. Hopefully Ke Murray and P Mac are on the floor every competitive minute.
