Perhaps it’s the algorithms at work on my newsfeed, but I just seem to be inundated with stories about Caitlin Clark and Hawkeyes WBB.

If you’re South Carolina and you’re seeing this too, just how pissed off and tuned up are you going to be coming in to Friday night?

Sure, as a Hawkeye fan, this is a blast and I’m so happy for CC and the whole WBB program. But I can also see this not exactly improving Iowa’s chances against SC. I mean, they’ve got plenty of motivation, but if they’re feeling “slighted” by all the attention that’s been going to CC and Iowa (at their expense), I could definitely see them coming into that game with a huge chip on their shoulder, ready to make a “statement” and just be relentless going after CC.

In an ideal world, CC knows this too and they’re anticipating this with plans to counter as best they can.

Iowa is playing with house money at this point. No one who follows the women's game believes Iowa has a good chance to win. SC has the front line and perimeter defense that should win fairly easily over everyone they face.

But....we have a chip and a chair and that's all you can ask for at this point. It's a shame the committee put these teams on the same side of the bracket. Big mistake on their part and I'm sure they know it.

100 percent agree. CC may get all the publicity but nobody is giving Iowa a chance to win and they know that. We could play 50 times and only win once, but none of that matters Friday night.

Not that it matters…but IF we played 50 times we would almost assuredly win more than once…probably about 10 times, all really tight wins…whereas in those hypothetical 50 games, probably 10 or so that really get away and aren’t real close.

Hawks are the #2 ranked team in the country for crying out loud. SC’s is damn near 50-0, but it’s not against teams as skilled as Iowa. Yes they go 10 deep, yes they have the ingredients to match up with better than anyone we faced at every position.

But, Iowa’s top 6 is better than what SC has seen all year, and Iowa isn’t devoid of D1 talent as some seem to think. Iowa brings more to the table than almost anyone they’ve faced over the over the 46 gm winning streak.

Got to get and stay hot shooting, get near double digit out everyone not named Clark. Find a way to slow them on offensive boards

You're late to the party........This has only been a thing any time Iowa gets any attention for women's basketball that may interfere with the elite squads' face time.

See Kim Mulkey regarding Megan Gustafson or even Moren from Indiana this past season.

Staley was even on Clark last year about the attention she was getting compared to Boston AND her team.

Outstanding points all the way thru gojo. Iowa's playing with house money at this point. Thats another reason I don't want them to slow things up or go overboard worrying about turnovers. Clark needs to let it rip with everything she has, just like Sunday. A repeat of the Georgia game formula and we'll lose by 20 points or more. I don't think the ladies will be intimidated by the physicality. They've had a steady dose of that for the last month. If we can make some shots early and put them on their heels, who knows.

Dawn Staley has been fair, given plenty of nods to CC worthiness, just advocates for her player. She gets a huge pass. Moren sounded ridiculous

Iowa writers and press are not the ones generating the buzz. When the publicity is universal and comes from mulit- tiers of press, including sources not related to women's basketball, it proves the level of phenomenon of Clark and her effect on the sport.

There may be "Caitlin Fatigue" at some point. She's in MJ territory and I suppose people got tired of hearing about him. I never did. How can you EVER not want to watch such amazing talent and athleticism?

It comes along so seldom.

Moren can't help plugging her 2 own dimensional player.
