This team looks loaded so far this season. Swanigan looks legit. Haas looks like he has upped his game, Hammons is back. Stephens is scoring and shooting the ball really well. Davis is scoring and playing some of the best backcourt D in the country. Edwards can do it all. Freshman Cline can shoot the 3 ball. I know its early and the competition is going to get much harder but Purdue just looks like a machine right now. A lot of people thought that Maryland or MSU were going to be the teams to beat this year in the B1G but Purdue looks every bit as good as those two teams.

This is a very deep team. Johnny Hill their transfer pickup has been playing really well too. Purdue looks like they can go 10 deep but can run a really good 8 man rotation.

MSU and Maryland will be the front runners. Sparty just beat KU and they are always dangerous in the tourney.

top of the B1G looks pretty tough.
maryland, msu, indy, purdue.
michigan and wisky will be pretty good as well.

If Hawks somehow manage 5th or 6th in the league this year they will have had a good season.

Agree The top half of the B1G is loaded with 4 teams that look like top 15 type teams so far this season. I fIowa can manage anywhere between 5-7th in the league I will be very happy and that will put us back in the dance.

Wisconsin's team from 2014/15 would be the favorite to win the Big Ten this year, imo. The Big Ten doesn't have a sniper type team like that this year. But if they fired all their teams at you at once it would be like grape shot coming out of a cannon!

Michigan State, Maryland, Indiana, Purdue...and maybe not in that order but I agree they should all be top fifteen type teams.

Coach Tom Crean? :) He might just mess his team up. But then that should go without saying.

Michigan, Iowa, Wisconsin, Ohio State...should all be good enough to make the NCAA Tournament.

Eight Big Ten teams in the Round of 32? It would not surprise me at all.

If you like great BB, the B1G should be a lot of fun to watch. Hawks can hang with these teams, if they stay healthy and the bench continues to improve. You can win a lot of games with experienced high-quality PGs.

What about Basil Smotherman?

Absolutely. We can space some of those teams out and with our passing, shooting, running be in any game. This team plays hard and together.

The B1G is loaded... MSU, Maryland, Purdue, Indiana are all going to be battling for the top.

Do not sleep on Michigan who has a ton of talent and had a ton of injuries including LaVert last year. I also am interested in Northwestern who has a nice nucleus of young players coming back. Nebraska has a few more athletes this year with the addition of Morrow. Not sure what Ohio St has but they usually have some talent and Wisky is down but it's Bo so they will be a tough out.

It's going to be a battle to get into the top half.

I've seen Indiana play twice and they are as good as anyone in the conference. I haven't seen ANYBODY play better than Iowa did last night.

If Iowa shoots like they did last night and especially so for three's.....they will be in every game regardless of the opponent.

MSU Maryland and IU are all better than Purdue. Purdue is not close to being the best team in the B1G.
I have not seen these teams play this year, but didn't Purdue handle IU pretty easily last year with their size. Now they have another brute. I would definitely include PU in the top group.

Have you seen Thomas Bryant for IU this year. He is going to be a beast. He has all the tools. IU is an amazing shooting team. Best 3 point team I have seen for a while. They hit fifteen shots in a row I hear in one of their games. The Buckeyes need to reload and have some good young players but I know it is a process they need to go thru.

What about Basil Smotherman?

Basil Smotheman volunteered to redshirt this season. I guess he saw early that he was not going to get any significant minutes this season. That is how deep Purdue is.

Thanks. I did not realize that. He is my favorite Purdue player.

I wouldn't be so sure, Purdue is going to have the best inside game in the conference. I also think Iowa is undervalued and will compete for a top 3-4 finish. If we are lower than 5th I'll be disappointed. People aren't valuing experience enough.

Me either....on the road. A TRUE road victory folks against a talented bunch of BB players. Just got done watching Maryland in their friendly confines barely beat a Rider team that looked like a bunch of Brandon Huttons size wise. It that is the #3 team in the country at this moment than I need to get my Top 10 BB radar checked out.

Any of these teams we are talking about should look great at home...IU needs to get out of Assembly Hall and they will finally do that against Duke on 12/2. See if they can pull out a nice true road W?

Isn't there some crean factor to bring down IU? They have some good shooters, yes. They have one beast in the middle, but he has to stay out off foul trouble. If Iowa shoots 3ball like they did vs Marquette, than Iowa will be tough. Time will tell.

Yes logic there is the Crean factor and it plays large with IU imo. I just think this IU team is not much different than last year's version who we beat in Assembly Hall, lot's of good talent but we match up very well and after our play against Marquette, a true road game against a team with plenty of talent, I feel more confident we can beat them home and away, we'll see? Chances are pretty good we are going to get better too especially in those young freshman improve.

And IU needs to win a true tough road game themselves cause right now...advantage Iowa.

I have seen Indiana lose twice. They are team with talent and mediocre coaching.
