Purdue, Indiana and Iowa Football 2021 .... Just Do It, Hawks!

Purdue - Iowa, like 2019, the Boilermakers will be Iowa's Homecoming Game. Fitting opponent, as Iowa celebrates a return to a 12 game regular season, with a Big Ten opener Week 1 and with the renewal of the CyHawk Game in 2021.

Last year, Iowa lost at Purdue. Iowa also was missing two of their key LBs that headline the Iowa LB room for 2021, and we had a first year QB leading a team that took some time to fine themselves last year.

Spencer did improve. As did the team as a whole, when it returned to full strength. In 2021, Iowa gets a Big Ten team, Indiana, for the first time, since 1979 and 1980, when the Hawkeyes opened the season with a conference game. Both those seasons, were home and away with Indiana.

C Tyler Linderbaum and P Tory Taylor are may be as good as any at their position in the College Football, though Taylor will be punting for the first time ever with a full stadium, of any kind, in 2021.

How big of leaders will RB Tyler Goodson and DE Zach VanValkenburg be in 2021. They really came on in late 2021.

Iowa enters 2021 on a six game win streak. What will the next 5 years bring, as we begin the new era in 2021, after what was a major disruption for the Hawkeyes and many programs in 2020?

Can the Hawkeyes open 2021 strong?
We know how beating Penn State was for Indiana. What about Iowa:

Can Spencer Petras keep up the pace? What about the Hawkeyes offense, special teams and most importantly, the defense? After all, this is a team sport.

Defense wins championships, agree or disagree, it is good to have DC Phil Parker at Kirk's side handling the defensive assignments for Iowa. It should be another interesting season for by a Hawk fan. The glass should more full than empty in 2021.

Iowa may not have an All-American yet on defense for 2021.

Of course, how many games did Daviyon Nixon start ahead of his 2020 season for the Hawkeyes? He really had a fine season. Likelihood, Iowa has someone to step up in 2021.

#17 Indiana vs. #18 Iowa: QB Michael Penix brings in a strong Hoosiers team, who are 13-12 the past 3 seasons. He is 10-2 as a starter for them.

The road back to Indianapolis begins September 4th for the Hawkeyes.
