The Good:
-29, 17, 42. 29 IOWA fouls led to 17 TO and a season low 42 FG% for Purdue. Defensively punched them in mouth Worked.…!
-77 points. Holding #1 Offense and #1 Off Efficiency to 77 points. defensive intensity works!
-25, 22, 16. Minutes played for Kris, Perk, and Ogundele. IOWAs showed both perimeter tenacity (TOs) and interior stoutness (42%)
The Bad:
-15, 4, 3. JoeT played 15 for game, 4 in 1H (Iowa fell behind by 13) as Frans 2 Foul rule limited IOWAs defensive leader ( ending up with 3 fouls)
-19, 4. Jaden Ivey v Jobo. lost this match up badly. Ivey had blow by and dunk
The Ugly
-0-5. ConMac Dribbling in place to feed the post not needed this yr. shouldn’t be in the #1 or #2 depth chart at any position
-2 foul 1st half rule. A) Benching players with no hope of returning in the 1st half will deincent aggressive 1H D.
B) the performance gap between starters and back ups have never been less, so the threat to losing a starter to fouls becomes moot as the back up is almost as good (if not better JoBo-Perk, Rebraca-Ogundele, PMac-Kris, JoeT-Ulis) the only exception might be keegan, but there is the position where there is the most organizational depth (Kris, PMac, Rebraca, Sanfort)
-limiting JoeT to 15m in a game that plays to his strengths and was 3-4, 4 A 1 TO, 1 Steal I wonder if JoeT had been reinserted in 1H if IOWA is under 10 (versus down 13) and maybe steals this game?
