******Purdue vs Iowa Game Thread******

Have fun watching tonight, ya'll.

I will catch the occasional score update, but fully expecting the Boilers to have little problem dispatching the Hawks this evening.

Harding is going to destroy Braden Smith.

They should be playing loose with nothing to lose. Ya know Payton's gonna get his.

Actually, it might be kind of fun to see riley with extended minutes tonight
Fran doesn't like playing Mulvey. Wouldn't be surprised if he only got around 10-15 minutes. Fran's strategy might be to go with 6'6" - 6'8" players against Purdue's 7'+ centers with predictable results.

Yeah, it will be Dembele, Braun, Mulvey. If Mulvey is as terrible as Fran thinks he is (based on Mulvey PT) than the obvious question is why didn't Fran replace him two years ago with a 7'0 guy that could play? That sums of Fran roster management---usually banks empty schollies, keeps dead weight on schollie, too many tweeners that can play defense or rebound.

Looks like a home game beatdown from Purdue is in the offing . Even if the Hawks somehow put together a good game and win, the ceiling on this team is NIT.

I still have Peacock so I will be watching. I don't know how many of these Hawks played will be returning next year. Looks like Fran is gone or even worse, going to run the program into the ground if he sticks around.

Both Purdue's 7 foot centers are out of commission. The 7'3" promising freshen has a broken leg. The other 7 footer sucks. They'll be dealing with 6'10" Caleb Furst and 6'9" TKR.

I will watch as usual, but it will probably be an Iowa beat down. The season is essentially over for Iowa for many reasons, but JMO.
I'll be coaching my kids 5-6 grade basketball team

Probably better play from them than the hawks tonight ;)

Because of Fran's roster management the season was over long before Owen's injury, it's time for Fran and his useless staff
to vacate Iowa basketball at the end of the season which will be after the next 10 games.....
Unless Harding starts to hunt his shot, hits them, and starts to go north and south instead of east and west, Mulvey becomes the next David Palmer who had a 2 game explosion in 2008/2009 season where he scored 19 points in a loss at Purdue and 21 points in a win in OT against Wisconsin and then was never a factor again at Iowa, Dix shows up again and stays hot for the remainder of the season, Payton begins to play smart basketball and takes open shots without all the body gyrations, Dembele starts to play like we all thought he would at the start of the season, Traore, starts to rebound like Reggie Evans, and Drew Thelwell goes off for another 20 or more, heck, maybe Pryce will go off and make 4 or 5 threes.
OK, I'm guessing none of this will happen and Iowa will again be beaten to death on the boards, allow Purdue easy baskets and Purdue will race away to and easy 30 point plus win, and everything I stated above, becomes only wishful thinking. That's usually how it go's under Fran's leadership, sadly....

Purdues starting 7’3 center broke his leg in game two. The centers are 6’10 and 6’9 and the backup is 6’10. FYI
