Looks like theres no chance of qualifying Holloway. Doubt he will get a wildcard. There are 6 quality guys who will have to fight for 5 spots. Snyder-Medbery-Nevills-Kroells-Jensen-Black

Snyder will be 'stealing a spot' so to speak, and one of the others will take a wildcard.

Wilcke should have a chance to qualify, Tom indicated it might be close on him for a wildcard. Hopefully he places top 7. Currently 6 B1G 197's ranked by FLO Pfarr, Moore, Studebaker, McCutcheon, Robertson(WI), and Brunner(Purdue).

Yeah, in a sense, Snyder (and Clark for that matter, though his isn't by choice) really F over the other Big Ten wrestlers for these allocations.

I think Wilcke is the #6 seed and makes it. He beat Brunner earlier this year. Won't be easy but Gunther should be the #5 seed and make it. Carton should be the #5 seed and shouldn't have a problem either. Here's hoping for 9

Snyder and Clark both got allocations. You only need 8 D-1 matches. Black wouldn't have gotten one at 285.

Only 6 qualifiers at 165 but I think Gunther should have little trouble getting a spot. After the top 4 he and Wanzek from Minny and Hughes from Michigan St will be fighting for the last 2 spots. He has already beat them both.

What in the world are those RPI rankings??? Zain at #4, Kemerer at #1, Gabe Dean #6!!!

NCAA wrestling RPI developers use much less logic than the NCAA basketball RPI folks, and the BB folks are always off by a mile. Just don't see the reason for RPIs if they can't pass the common sense test (e.g., there's no way Kem should be no 1, and there is absolutely no way Zain and Dean should be 4 and 6, respectively)...zero common sense.

I noticed Dean's SOS on seatonhallpirate's page was really low. I just looked it around 7. Just over 1/3 of what most Iowa kids have. That has to affect RPI.

Just looked it up, 7.435. That is super low.

We'll likely have 8 no matter what. Can't see Gunther or Carton not getting an at large bid. Wilcke is 50/50, IMO.

So the Hawks have a reasonable chance for 8 or 9 (Wilcke) qualifiers and the expected potential for 6 AA's with Carton/Gunther as long shots.

Would 6 Champs win the tournament?
