Question for Jeep Drivers

That's true to a point, but you won't go far rock crawling in extreme places in Texas, Moab, etc. Heck, there's a place called Wolf Caves in Texas I will never return to. If I didn't have $1K in skid plates I'd have been toast. You need a min of 37" tires (40s would be better) to navigate those boulders.

Overlanding, though? You're gtg as are the 4-runners, FJs, Broncos, etc. Our trip last year was a combo of Silverton, CO area and Moab.

Well now you're talking about modding up, which I could do with my GX too, but then you certainly do lose some the ride comfort that makes it a Lexus

Ya, you really do have to "mod up"...and I'm not even where I could (or should) be. We hooked up with a group of Lexus and 4Runners one weekend and one of those guys drove it like a rental...I learned what disintegrating a rear diff sounds like. Ooof! That was one pricey Lexus. LOL

Jeep people aren't the brightest stars in the sky

I will never own another Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge as long as I live

Have wondered what the McIntosh sound like:

  • Grand Cherokee L:
Select trims of the Grand Cherokee L feature the McIntosh MX950 Entertainment System.

  • Wagoneer:
The Wagoneer comes with the McIntosh MX950 Entertainment System.

  • Grand Wagoneer:
The Grand Wagoneer features the McIntosh MX1375 Reference Entertainment System.

  • Wagoneer S:
The Wagoneer S electric SUV comes with the McIntosh MX1200 Reference Entertainment System.

McIntosh Systems Features:
  • MX950: This system delivers 950 watts over 17 channels through 19 speakers in 12 locations.

  • MX1375: This system is designed to create a truly immersive audio experience within the Grand Wagoneer.

  • MX1200: This system utilizes 24 channels of amplification and a dual voice-coil 12-inch subwoofer.

  • Illuminated McIntosh logos: on the door's speaker grille.

  • Aluminum framing and industrial ridged control knobs .

  • Iconic "McIntosh Blue" decibel meters: on the car's infotainment screen.

  • Power Guard: for crystal clear audio at high levels.

  • LD/HP (Low Distortion/High Performance) technology .

  • 19 speakers: in 12 locations.
Hopefully it's more impressive than Audi's B&O system. It's crap. I pulled my wife's and installed my own.

Funny you bring this up OP. I just asked a Jeep owning friend of mine this very same thing. She explained it to me and while I wouldn’t do it, to each their own.

My son and I have a 99 Wrangler that we like to pop the doors and roof off during the summer, cruise around town, and listen to old school rap. It’s not practical at all but it is fun to cruise in on a nice, warm day.

Nice. We went on that exact same trail. Absolutely loved Ouray (went in August, wouldn't probably enjoy as much in winter). Want to go back and make it to Telluride soon.
Well, most trails are closed during the winter. We did Black Bear Pass, Imogene, Ophir, Engineer, Poughkeepsie Gulch, Yankee Boy and few others I can't remember right now. We went in August as well.

That makes sense about the trails being closed in the Winter. We did Black Bear Pass and Imogene and I loved both. Beautiful town.

Def not cheap. My cousin runs a shop in Ft Worth and has been racing for decades apparently. Legit off roaders are pretty bad ass rigs. I also don't get fishing as a full time "its what I always do" passion.

Different strokes for different folks said the farmer as he kissed his cow.
does he know dennis collins?
