Random thought- Why do football stadiums face North/South

I have always wondered this but was too lazy to Google it and figured hrot would know more than Google. Most stadiums I have been in or played in all run/face North/South.

There are some that run East/West but it's not many, are there any in the BIG that go East/West? Maybe it's a Feng Shui thing.

I think it has something to do with the sun rising in the east and setting in the west.
