Using the AP poll, Hawkeyes are 1-8 over the last 20 years when ranked and playing a ranked opponent at their house. Now, 6 of those losses were to top ten teams (5 in Columbus, 1 in Ann Arbor). The one victory was in 2002 against 8th ranked Michigan. They also lost at Purdue in '03 and Arizona in '10.

Other than the '02 Michigan win, the next most recent win was the '91 Ohio State win right after the on campus shootings.

None of this, of course, has any bearing on this Saturday's game.

No real bearing, sure. Gamblers like records like that though.

Looks like they're just going to have to go 2-8 then. Michigan 2002 style. Dare to be different I always say.

NW Mulva, oh NW Mulva, where art thou?

nw looks very mortal after the beatdown they just suffered.
I like the Hawks chances, much better than before this weekend.
Still give nw a slight edge.

Iowa's defense must play a great game in Evanston next
Saturday. The Hawkeyes need to play smart and avoid
foolish penalties. Our offense is balanced with both a
good passing and good running attack. It should be
an even contest decided by one touchdown.

Well... one year we beat #5 Penn State when we should have been ranked.

Iowa has beaten Penn State at their house a number of times over the years. Still remember back in 1976 when they won a low scoring affair over Penn State 7-6 when Commings was still coaching them.
