"Nebraska owns five national championships and more than 900 victories. In the 46 seasons prior to Frost’s return to Lincoln, no college football program won more games than Nebraska. During those 46 years, Big Red recorded only four losing seasons."

Welcome to the College Football Playoff era Nebraska. The Blueblood era is over. The Media will play up the bluebloods from time to time, but it is a new era.

It has taken you twenty years to maybe realized the old Big 8 days are over.

Sadly, the B1G West is stuck in the East beating West era (2014 to 2020) and does anyone see a change this season in Indianapolis?

We can hope, at some point, like Iowa 55-24, when a four turnover game can spark a West program to win in Indianapolis?

The Badgers are doing that right now. But, like as Iowa found in their two game losing streak, sustaining that week to week is very challenging. And, you don't want to add to your own misery with your own turnovers.
  1. Wisconsin (4-2) knows it's identity, but there is some concerns offensively (2020 and 1-3 start in 2021), but they own the West presently. DC Jim Leonard is huge for Paul Chryst. With NW, UNL & at MN, 3-0 is trending for the Badgers to finish 7-2.
  2. Purdue (4-2) - Jeff Brohm is beginning to beat more than Iowa. The Homecoming loss at Kinnick was flashbacks of 1961-1980. This week may truly measure where the Boilermakers are trending at Ohio State. Can they compete at a high level against Top 10 teams in back to back weeks? @ OSU, @ NW & battle for bucket to close out B1G season!
  3. Iowa (4-2) - biggest game of the season to date. On Iowa!
  4. Minnesota (4-2) - PJ Fleck is looking to pull off his biggest win in the PJF era there?
  5. Northwestern - ugly season record wise, but new DC and young team mixed with super seniors, I doubt the Wildcats won't be a thorn next year heading to Kinnick.
  6. Illinois (3-4) - the Fighting lllini are idle with B1G games at Iowa and against Northwestern in Wrigley ahead. Bret Bielema has had a solid first season, with a lot of super seniors. Year 2 could be a rebuild season, like Iowa in 1980.
  7. Nebraska - I disagree with Pat Forde on the Big Ten Network. Like with Michigan at end of 2020, Good Financial Move by AD Trev Alberts. I doubt the spend $9 million to replace 4 offensive assistants.

On Monday, Nebraska (21) waved the white flag, admitted defeat, declared itself a noncompetitor in modern college football. Athletic director Trev Alberts (22) announced that it was bringing floundering Scott Frost back for a fifth season with a “restructured” contract. As part of keeping Frost, a major staff overhaul saw four offensive coaches fired the same day: OC Matt Lubick, OL coach Greg Austin, QB coach Mario Verduzco and RB coach Ryan Held. - Pat Forde

Does Nebraska pull out a win to close 2021?

Like Illinois, on a bye this week.

Listening to Ohio State coach Ryan Day today: "Keeping on Schedule."

OC Brian Ferentz needs to emphasize fast starts and keeping on schedule in November.

Mixed results in Evanston, but most importantly, a 17-12 win.
