the level of the competition and coaching in the B1G has never been better. The ceiling is relatively high and there don't appear to be any 100% clear cut favorite.

I think it'd be reasonable to see a 6-6 or 7-5 year. I'm really surprised we don't have more push on the OL, but the fronts we're facing are D1 talent as well.

There are two other OCs on staff. I'm sure the issue is not brainpower or qualifications.

They aren't very good at their jobs or they aren't allowed to do their jobs. You pick.
If it's the latter, which I think is likely, then I want a new HC. That's my rational, reasonable expectation.

On this team the OC is a figurehead. The HC sets the parameters for how our offense will work and its not looking good.

I've been absent since Friday...but I was able to watch the game.

Frustrating.

Since I'm no genius as to the problems deeper than what I see, I kinda tend to believe Iowa must use Toren Young more (and once Butler gets ready, him), splitting with the Wadley/IKM combo and get back to "tough running", cause I can't help but believe it's easier to defend against one style of back than two.

Second...when you go to the game plan Iowa employs, turnovers like what happened to Stanley are absolute killers. I've seen that happen before, and I still don't quite understand how the hell it happens. Yes, Young's fumble also was a killer...but it's less certain we get points there and Iowa HAD to have that 7 on the first drive that far down the field.

Third, the punting game cost Iowa 10 points yesterday. Must. Improve. Now. No offense is going to do well when it gets the ball inside the 10 3/4 the game and gives the opponent so many starts inside our 50.

Fourth...the long pass misses, we gotta hit those given the running game woes. Everything else about those plays looks like it's getting done correct. Stanley, that's on you, son.

Lastly, I guess we miss Ike and Boone Myers a bit on the o-line...

I dunno what the heck is going to happen the rest of the season.

I think we end up 8-4 honestly. We have some games left vs weak competition. We also have OSU & Wisky left. I think the hawks beat ILLINI, NW, Minny, PU, and Nebbie. I think we lose to Wisky & OSU.

I imagine coaching gets more difficult when the QB is sailing deep balls 5+ yards out of WR reach. Not to say that also doesn't come down to coaching.

Iowa fans are like most fans they expect more and more after they get use to success. The Iowa football coaching job isn't a big prize like most fans on here like to think. KF would have done himself a big favor if he would have left and went to a power school where recruiting is a snap. This is something he could have did many times over the years but he staid loyal to us. I for one appreciate it.

Simple.....when something doesn't work.....try something different. That is my rational expectation.

If only we had a time machine to travel back and figure out who was responsible for bringing in these players.
