New Story RB Kendrick Raphael decommits from Iowa

Freshman studs? First, we have 2 freshmen who combined have about 20 carries this season for their careers. Always funny how fanatics like you jump way ahead of yourselves. Bet you said repeatedly the same thing about our OL too at some point. Where's that stand?
What the hell is wrong with calling those 2 kids freshmen studs! When's the last time Iowa had a freshman running back rip off 2 long touchdown runs in a single game just saying!Right now he thinks they look the part!

Yeah, against Nevada- the wurst defense we will play all year. Let him have a big day against Michigan or someone respectable before you say crap like this.

Let me ask you something did you watch this kid's high school tape! I have in depth if hes got good blocking he can rip off plenty of those long runs against anybody. And you didn't answer my question when's the last time we had a true freshman rip off 2 long runs! Because it's been a long time.

How many thousands of kids have looked good against inferior high school talent but never made it happen in college? How about 5-star recruits Doerring and Blake Larsen do in college after dominating high school?

Who cares! I was pointing out to you that you were criticizing somebody for their opinion! And again I asked you 2 questions you didn't answer either one!

For all those who claim this is just BAU and the fact we are losing offensive players is just normal business, how come we don't have any incoming offensive threats transferring to Iowa?

Because we are already loaded and they are all intimidated?

Charlie Jones? 4th string for us, didn't need. Plus Purdue has only won one game.
RB decommitts? Who cares. We're set for RBs for the next decade. Good luck at your new school. You're probably toxic in the locker room anyway. So I hear.

We lost one.

We have decommits and misses every year.

People were claiming the sky is falling during last year's skid, and during last summers recruiting dead period, and after the first 2 games of 2020, and the list goes on for a VERY long time.

Every single time it's been "the beginning of the end", it's been a complete overreaction.

How come he has no stats for 2020 ?
2020 Stats

we had 4 receivers transfer last year, which has led us to the worse offense under Ferentz.

TOS points to the offense being the primary concern of why Raphael decided to seek other options. It did appear to be a surprise to those that are around him though. On a good note, it seems that Proctor to no surprise is firm in his commitment. He is stated to have over 1300 unread text messages from other coaches.

Offense was definitely a concern, but he was shopping around even before the season. It was also a surprise to everyone that he committed in the first place.

It just sped up the process. With hindsight I'm guessing we were never going to keep him.

Too bad because his high school coach said Iowa's zone blocking schemes are similar to what they run.

Our slow offensive start is more from teams stacking 8 in the box and having key injuries at RB and WR. Lokk at Tyler Goodson last year, he rushed for 1151 yards last year, had over 3,000 yards rushing and receiving in three years at Iowa.

I think him decommiting is more a situation of him sarting his season off with a bang, more offers coming in, NIL money promises and the pressure these young men get, especially in the South.

If he doesn't want to be a Hawk, let's find someone that does. Plenty of time in the recruiting cycle.

A teenager changes his mind and grown men on the internet shite their pants.

I think we are in excellent shape with our runningback room. Both William's are good backs, and Kaleb Johnson and Jaziun Patterson look to be outstanding. This decommit now gives us time to recruit another excellent prospect. Go Hawks ! ( And all you negative Nellies should give it a rest. )
We said the same thing about our WRs last season, things happened and now we are behind the 8ball for that position. But yeah, everyone give it a rest.

I think this is most likely related to a combo of the following:
  1. Iowa was in on him early before his senior year, he has blown up and other local and areas schools probably showing interest (Miami, FSU, etc?)
  2. Iowa is a long way from FL, maybe see #1 here as well
  3. I'm sure either he and/or teams recruiting against him say "look at the depth chart, at least 4 scholly RB's are soph or below"
  4. He committed early and now with new info wants to take his time, better now than first week of December and he didn't take a secret visit or be coy w/staff from what we know
  5. NIL money and saying "SEE, who wants to play in this offense" is a short sided argument IMO. Maybe with a QB or WR you might say this, but wow look at Iowa's RB history with PT, # of carriers a year and the typical OL (outside of this year) they churn out. Hawks can also say (we hope!) that we have the best HS OT in the nation blocking for you starting next year, so there's that
Just a little perspective AND we have a chance to fill his ride sooner than later, we usually do just fine at RB, I'd rather find a top flight WR if possible as we are looking good at RB.

Who are you to tell others what they should or shouldn't be doing? This isn't your board.
I'm going to assume you understand the difference between should/ought and must.

I pay to post on this board and have complied, I think, to the posting rules. That's what gives me the right to tell others my opinion of their posts. That is kind of how these sites work. We all are sharing opinions. For example who are you to criticize or even understand Brian or Kirk Ferentz. Do you know more about football, pretty sure no. Do you see the guys practice, pretty sure no. Yet you have no problem saying what the Ferentz's should do, or what should be done to them. It's how the 1st Amendment works, at least for now.

I chose to share my opinion about your quote because the smarmy gloating over Iowa bad news has become a tedious monotony of actual animosity from people that purport to be Iowa fans. Frankly, hoping to point you in a healthier direction since you very clearly do not appreciate Iowa football and derive satisfaction if not pleasure from bad news. That's a nasty negative way to live. I think you sound more like an Ohio State or Michigan fan. They almost always win, score tons of points. What's not there for you to love? You should thank me.
