RBY coming back

Was there ever any doubt?
He’s never been shy about recognizing the importance of marketing himself, so yeah I think there was some doubt. But he’s actually got what I’d call “real” NIL value, which in theory exists mostly independently of the school he’s at. Fanboy money is what I’d call the money people pay just so their team can have best guys, so it’s 100% school-specific.

I get it's May but why would you want an almost for sure champ at #125 to wrestle #133? Do you really not want Iowa to have a 4 time champ? That makes absolutely no sense to me. We all know Spenser is good but there's some pretty tuff wrestlers at 133. I mean what the hell why not have him wrestle 157? Iowa's only week spot?. Just for you Iowa should bump Spencer up during the dual with Penn State. Will have to wait and see maybe it will happen.

I believe what you just wrote is an example of "tongue in cheek", meaning you don't actually believe it, but are throwing it out in an insincere manner (trolling?). You may be somewhat blinded by your PSU-colored glasses, but to think that Spencer wouldn't dominate EVERYONE at 133 is nonsensical. You know that...and if you don't, you have little recognition of wrestling talent. Bravo Young is one of many good wrestlers in the past 5 years --- Spencer Lee is one of a very small number of great wrestlers in U.S. history.

Believe it or not, I appreciate seeing this and having the rest of the cesspool exposed to this stat.

Imo, it really shows that, historically, Iowa has been competitive by fielding well rounded team rather than individual NC’s.

I’ve heard that strategy has been changing in IC, but I also know old habits die hard.

If his knees recovered properly, no one on the planet beats him at 125. Hope Daton comes down because that leaves an AA spot for Cullen.
Fix coming down to make 25 fifteen times a year makes about as much sense as Spencer going up to 33. Neither is happening, also Cullen has a long way to go to AA.

Would love to see him do it, has the skill, needs to get stronger.

His retirement was slightly longer than Tom Brady's, to no one's surprise.

Whew I’m a big Spencer fan but saying he dominates RBY or even Fix is a bit much lol.

I think Spencer beats them in both but Fix would be tougher in Free and RBY tougher in folk. Fix is good at ad libbing off of other people's shots to get exposure points...much like their match at Cadets years ago. But Spencer's scrambling has gotten better and his finishes more emphatic. RBY would be tough in folk because he can work the outside, dart in and out etc and not be penalized for not staying in the ties. It's much harder to do that in freestyle. I don't know if we'll ever see either because I am guessing RBY would make the bump up to 141 for his last year.

so we can just write a check from an alumni and call it NIL and the NCAA is good with this deal ?.... Says a shocked Ira Lubert as he pulls his checkbook out from under his pile of Autographed pictures of he and Carl at the future site of Lubert's newest Casino in State College....

Not sure why every kid with eligibility left wouldn’t just go into the portal after every year or fake retirement. In a way college guys are actually in a better position than most pros as far as leverage. See what you can milk out of the different boosters across the country.

Lol Some kids actually like their coaches and team, maybe?

Well, they can stay where they are. Just scare the boosters enough to pony up some more money every year.
Imagine the digital telethons/auctions they could hold complete with with threats of catastrophe and calamity. The new digital preachers…..

Just curious, based on your recognition of wrestling talent, do you believe Spencer could win a hypothetical championship at 141 next year? If not, who do you think can beat him?
