I'd look at Swiderski for 141/149. And I kind of hate to say it, but considering he behaved himself all year and obviously Angelo seems to be having a good experience, AJ makes sense as a 1 year bridge to Luddington at 197.So, now that we are down to the last day of the season tomorrow, who would be possible transfers to fill our holes in the lineup?
Flipping the Blaze brothers would be a major coup. I'd be pretty shocked though. I like the Volk idea. Nice bridge to Deluca. It's been a while since we've seen Deluca against elite comp due to injury, so it's hard to know how ready he is right now.biggest needs are 141 and 157.
nobody really sticks out as good options for 141 unless a 133 moves up. romney is a huge 133 so maybe him. nagao maybe? blaze at 157 would be great. heck just get both of them and fill 141/157.
i could also see maybe a 125 who could move up to 133 when drake graduates. volk maybe?
lastly it wouldn’t be a transfer thread if mr. fast twitch wasn’t mentioned.
We would have to have written assurances of Baileys eligibility prior to pursuing. Maybe their coach could document something for us.Flipping the Blaze brothers would be a major coup. I'd hate to see it happen, but maybe Bailey from LR. I think he's a huge 133 and had a down year. If he wants a payday, maybe he leaves, but I'd hate to take guys from LR.
I’m surprised to see you floating the Caliendo to 157 idea. Seems unrealistic. If he somehow made it down, I think his performance would suffer.I'd look at Swiderski for 141/149. Potential lineup, if guys can handle the cuts at 157-174:
125 Deluca
133 Ayala
141 Swiderski
149 Estrada/Block/Rathjen
157 Caliendo
165 PK
174 Arnold
184 Ferrari
197 Ferrari
285 Kueter
You never know who's gonna enter the portal, but based on what we know now, those look like the best options.
But you wouldn’t get to see the same Ferrari fights! Did you know he’s arrogant and not a Hawkeye personality? Also without him we can’t compete? It would be awesome if a thread, like this was pinned at the top of the board.
Who the hell looks at pinned posts at the top of the board? It would be awesome if a thread, like this was pinned at the top of the board.
Well, since you have to scroll by pinned threads to get to the other threads below them, it bolds the thread if there are new posts to look at, and the recruiting and portal threads are there, I do.Who the hell looks at pinned posts at the top of the board?
AJ supposedly has 2 more years of eligibility.I'd look at Swiderski for 141/149. And I kind of hate to say it, but considering he behaved himself all year and obviously Angelo seems to be having a good experience, AJ makes sense as a 1 year bridge to Luddington at 197.

He is a freshman correct? I wish he was in our room.I don't think blaze will make another finals.
No soph. He wrestled franek a bunch last year. He's boring and fortunate to make the finals imo. Maybe he will prove me wrong his last two years, but I don't expect another finals from him. I would love him in the room if it would bring his brother. Otherwise would have to pass if my choice. He is a freshman correct? I wish he was in our room.
I want Caliendo exactly where he wants to be.I’m surprised to see you floating the Caliendo to 157 idea. Seems unrealistic. If he somehow made it down, I think his performance would suffer.
AJ supposedly has 2 more years of eligibility.
We have several good young guys to battle it out at 149 until Bo gets here. Caliendo certifies at 157 but to get there and be healthy all year could be a different thing. Lets see how tonight goes before we decide if he should make the cut or not. If he does it absolutely gives us a chance at our best lineup. Both Voinovich's, Block, Estrada and Rathjen will battle it out for 149. Caliendo 157, Kennedy 165, Arnold 174, Ferrari 184, Elam/Ludington 197, Kueter Hwt. Pick up a stud transfer for 1 year at 125 so DeLuca can redshirt, Ayala 133 and another transfer at 141. Hope the Raneys join Bo and we are on the right path.
knock that sh!t offYou guys have no idea what’s in the works, but I think everyone will be pretty happy come the start of next season
AJ is a very good chance of happening.biggest needs are 141 and 157.

Lots of names being thrown around for filling some weights next year, but will they all even be on the roster? Unless there is some way to work around the new roster limit, the limit of 30 wrestlers for 25-26 season is gonna require cuts to the roster. Seems like NCAA has their head up their a$$ and doesn't understand how that roster limit will impact wrestling. For example, if we bring in 6 freshmen that redshirt, that leaves 24 roster spots to fill 10 weights. In ideal weight distribution, that puts us 3 deep at 4 weights and 2 deep at 6 weights. So we can't afford to be 4 deep at 149 for example. Injuries could impact filling all the weights for duals next season so we could see an increase in forfeits. Anyone have any info how teams like Iowa that generally have about 40 on their roster are gonna deal with the new roster limit? We have several good young guys to battle it out at 149 until Bo gets here. I agree 100 percent. Kid is a beast it is so unfortunate he is in Messenbrinks bracket but hoping he can figure out a way to win.I want Caliendo exactly where he wants to be.![]()

All you do is run your big, stupid mouth anytime anyone suggests something. Bigger cuts happen every single year. If he gets worked tonight he just might WANT to make the cut.Yes, definitely take a returning NCAA finalist and 5th year senior and make him cut weight to a weight he hasn’t wrestled at for 7 years. That is a recipe for success if I have ever heard one.
Caliendo to 157, Kennedy to 165, Gabe to 174. Every single one of them could make the cut and they all certified at those weights.Anyone who mentions Caliendo or Kennedy to 57, or AJ, should be in line for a ban hammer!
Switched to brisket a couple years ago because it is always Turkey for Thanksgiving. Wish we would have made the switch years ago.I hope it involves prime rib for Christmas. I get so tired of turkey and ham.
Time to stop allowing guys that weren't multiple time state champs to fill roster spots.Lots of names being thrown around for filling some weights next year, but will they all even be on the roster? Damn I guess we shouldn’t have let Kem in our roster then.Time to stop allowing guys that weren't multiple time state champs to fill roster spots.

Figs, Cardenas, and Ferrari are my guesses. Pure speculation. Ferrari definitely auditioning this week. He's been on his best behavior. I'd question if Figs is still a good play after what we saw this weekend. Seemed like he lacked effort and desire. You guys have no idea what’s in the works, but I think everyone will be pretty happy come the start of next season

They may have certified it, doesn’t mean they can make it and wrestle with any sort of consistency nor up to their potential. Kennedy and Caliendo both come at you hard and push the pace of their matches. You take the extra energy from cutting away from them and they aren’t the same wrestlers. The answer isn’t always just to cut.Caliendo to 157, Kennedy to 165, Gabe to 174. Every single one of them could make the cut and they all certified at those weights.
Can you imagine the sh1t TnT would take if they had two top 4 guys each cut and it backfired on us? Remember sucked down DSJ or Kaleb Young their senior seasons?Caliendo to 157, Kennedy to 165, Gabe to 174. Every single one of them could make the cut and they all certified at those weights.
counterpoint it worked out ok for Nebraska this year.
