Not a big list with the 11 AM kickoff, but a few interesting names with of course the big headliner being four-star junior college defensive end Andrew Van Ginkel, who is making his official visit this weekend.

I should mention that Jaxson Hayes is the son of former Hawkeye Jonathan Hayes and Henry Marchese is the son of former Hawkeye John Marchese. Henry's twin brother Michael, a safety, will also be in town.

Also, Nathan Nelson is Anthony Nelson's younger brother. Their dad is Jeff Nelson, who also played for the Hawkeyes.

C'mon Hawks, reel in AVG! If we did get him, what does next year's D-line look like with A.J. Epenesa coming in? In short, not a lot of natural DTs so who slides inside?

DE - Hesse
DE - Anth. Nelson
DE - Matt Nelson
DE - A.J.
DE - AVG
DE - Brincks
DE - Golson
DT - Lattimore
DT - Bazata
DT - Hulett

I believe he has been battling an injury, (hamstring?) so his playing/practice time has been limited, at least I thought I read that in an article somewhere.

That makes sense. Thought it was weird that his numbers were so low.

AVG and AJ outside
DT Lattimore Bazata

Sub in Nelsons to keep the D fresh
Also sub in DT who step up to keep D fresh and not wear down in the 4th.

Since rivals site is acting up David i see him starting he will be a junior and the pass rusher we need seen his video he's great and what we need.

Quote from the start of the season by his Coach. "He's been hampered a little by an injury," Strohmeier says on Van Ginkel, "but he will be ready to go. He's had a solid camp with a high motor. A high energy kind of guy."

Then this from a Sept 9 article: Injuries continue to hamper the Reivers. Defensive end Andrew Van Ginkel, who has offers from Iowa, Nebraska and Wisconsin among others, again is a gametime decision as he deals with a hip injury. He barely saw the field last week.
