After the MATCH ME campaign that has been incredible, I decided it was time to check out the monthly donation plan. Just saw the new page and loved it. Time to turn up the heat on this thermometer a bit. Let's GO!

That should add 6 more to the goal of 5,000 $25 donors. My brother was at the banquet last night and had no idea about the fundraising going on, or the issues the club faces. He attends all of the home meets and some away ones. There are thousands out there that still have no idea that Iowa wrestling isn't rich. There is a lot of work to do getting the word out. Do we have a running total of auto donors?

this has been the most interesting off season, today i recieved a hand written thank you note from steel. like i said not why i donated, but i have no problem admitting i like it and appreciate matt taking the time and i can't wait for him to get back in action.and way to get the new thread started with a bang sir.

I'm tardy with setting up my monthly; got it done today. I firmly believe that the monthly donation revenues can be built to a level that we (us, me, you, the fans, the cesspool) can build the monthly donations to a level that will provide a backbone for the club's comfortable existence moving forward. We can do it $10, $25 or $50/month at a time.

I really love being a part of this movement with all of you.

Alright, my man!

So I was joking about the $100k yearly donation, but it is true that my donation for 2017 has already been made (minus the tournament challenges, etc.). First thing in 2018, my monthly (which is actually our company's corporate sponsorship) goes into effect. I highly suspect the same will happen with most, if not all, of the corporate sponsors as well as a whole lot of individuals who have already made their 2017 donations.

Add to this the fact that we're just scratching the tip of the iceberg on getting the word out, not to mention adding a whole bunch more corporate sponsors or expanding on existing fundraisers, and this thing's gonna snowball like crazy.

And that, my friends, is F***.

Well done Day1! Completely agree on the $10, 25 or $50/month! It will add up over time. Now I will want to see that thermometer go up by the hour....

Pretty easy to support this cause after so many years of libraries, churches, schools some of which we will continue to support, but this is a slam dunk. Save a few out to dinner meals and cancel the kid's cell phone... BOOM... just kidding there (sort of)! Go Hawks!
Allow me to offer heavy equipment operator, blue collar analysis. $25 monthly is a case of budweiser and a bag of sunflower seeds! I've recently read comments that it isn't possibe to get to 5000 monthly donors. I think we are aiming low at 5000! Once the word spreads this is going to get huge!

Thanks for asking, was! We're kind of a niche business. We're called Iowa Retina Consultants, so nobody is likely to need us unless their retina detaches, they get macular degeneration, they have diabetic eye disease, or the like. Nearly all of our patients are referred by ophthalmologists or optometrists. That said, we have offices in WDM, CR, Mason City, Carroll, and Iowa City, and if anybody needs our services, we're more than happy to help!

But you make a very good point. . . . It would be great if Hawk fans took notice of the HWC's corporate sponsors and patronized them whenever possible!

exactly what i was thinking, not being nosy. so sugar ray leonard kind of thing.

This analysis made my day! I agree with the thought of aiming too low. It really could just take ONE event at CHA or Kinnick and/or multiple events and it's done.

Night of Conflict is a great place to start. Fill the house, all proceeds go to HWC and sign them up for recurring and Amazon Smile.

Isn't NOTC put on by IAWrestle? Wouldn't it be tough for them to have credibility if the proceeds for the night went to the HWC?

They already said the proceeds would. IAWrestle has to go with their market whether or not they lean Iowa or not. If the HWWC in Ames is doing big things, then they will be covering them once all the HWWC fans come back into the fold.

Spooner gonna be Spooner.....NOC could be a huge boon for the hwc. Let's get that puppy sold out!

NOC has always been a HWC fundraiser.

That is why they created War at West Gym, and tried to get involved with the Agony at Ames.

As stated by others, NOC benefits HWC, War at West Gym benefits PWC and we were in talks to plan an event at Iowa State for some time before they decided to go with the Agony group. We are still actively pursuing to have events at all three universities and have even had discussions with Grand View.

We are willing to partner with anyone looking to better the sport.

As an FYI-- This very concept is what is going to help us reach our goals of 1.5 mm annual revenue for the HWC. The "thermometer" is manually updated so be patient if you dont see it updated for a couple days-- I can report we are over $3,000 per month. Thank you to those that have helped!

We have monthly donors for as small as $10 per month and as large as $250 per month.

If we can "get the word out" --our fans will step up. As crazy as it seems to have 5000 fans participate in the and get to $100,000 per month in donations-- WE CAN DO IT!

Who would have considered we might raise over 100,000 K from a single thread? ( Not me)

Look for me to make some posts in the near future detailing some of the costs we have-- for upcoming tourneys etc.. so you have an idea where you $$ you are donating are going.
