I'mma go out on a limb here with proposition. I think the red shirt program should be re-evaluated. There are too many cases of guys sitting out their first year and then getting injured in subsequent seasons and losing mat time.

I'd like to see a system that gives each athlete four years to compete, with the availability of a fifth season in case of season ending injury.

Go ahead and throw popcorn at me…..:D

I love popcorn...too valuable to waste ;)

I think Spencer Lee might be a case to go right away and RS during the Oly year. This might be a good recruiting tool for future Oly wannabes

That post (especially the last sentence) is practically begging for a barrage of emojis from the master himself, kwoodhawk

The 4 year rule is archaic. Anymore, it takes kids longer than 4 years to graduate. I say give everyone 5 years to compete. No redshirts or injury hardship. Eliminate all exceptions and gray area. You get 5 years. The end.

This proposal was put before the NCAA a few years ago.

4 years to graduate? Ask Desmond king how long it takes if you want to graduate.
