Can't seem to find out who are the officials for tomorrow night's game. As long as there's no Teddy, I would be happy. DJ Carstens would be great for one of the refs. Anyone can find out?

Pretty sure the B1G or NCAA keeps info under wraps prior to games...probably to prevent anyone getting access to them before the game.

Used to be a site where one could look up past games and see where officials had been, how many games they'd ref'd..stuff like that. But it sold and the outfit that bought it does different things.

As to future games, I have never found such a site and I believe Bob is correct that they keep the info quiet. However, if TV Ted doesn't show up anywhere tonight I will guess he does officiate the Mich St/Iowa game. He did the Mich/Mary game last night.

I have a bad feeling about this one. I wish we could take a few Iowa football guys with us to bust some heads.

The officiating is so one sided up there everyone knows that Iowa is not going to win. While nothing will top the 95 game at East Lansing where Sparty started the game with their first foul coming around the 2 minute mark of the first half, we all seen what the officials do to Iowa, and many other squads.

Its a problem that our conference obviously does not wish to see solved. And no, its not every game and every ref but there is enough bias demonstrated at Sparty, who have become the new Indiana. A very good program that is rendered nearly invincible by slanted officiating.

Given our past history concerning Valentine and our debacles with Michigan St., having him ref this important of a game would just be a slap to McCaffery's face by the Big Ten Conference. That said, it wouldn't surprise me one iota.

I am pretty sure Iowa can request not to have officials do their games. My buddies Uncle was a Pac 10 official for a long time and apparently him and the coach from Washington (Lorenzo) did not get along and he never got to officiate their games. He was sent every where else in the league, but never had a Washington game.

I don't know how true that is, but my buddy swears by it. I just find it odd that Teddy has not done an Iowa game in a LONG time.

Whoever the officials are, they will do fine. Basketball is a tough game and the "home court" will have some cooking going on.

It's not going to happen. He hasn't done an Iowa game since the Big Ten Tourney in'13. There is a reason for that..... The conference very much noticed how attrocious that was in the national spotlight. If they're going to dispatch TV Teddy to an Iowa game, it won't be this one.

I heard that this year, the conference has cleared Valentine to do Iowa games again.

BTW, TV Teddy is doing the Purdue game tonight.

You are correct. Tom doesn't mention this much but awhile back TV Teddy was on our list (two refs) of officials we don't want. At the beginning of the season Tom said TV Teddy would officiate Iowa games this year. And Valentine already did one of our exhibition games.

Having heard he migrated to the Purdue game is good news, maybe. Still too close to Michigan for my comfort. I just have this bad feeling he'll be the ref up there.

How was Teddy cleared? I saw no official assessment or validation from Fran. This must under the table activity, DanL, get on it pronto!

You got it. Unfortunately my method is just reading whatever Kakert says.

This is the thing that just bothers me is that TV teddy was in:

Tuesday: Ann Arbor
Wednesday: Purdue

If he works Thursday that will be 3 games in 3 days. I realize these guys are in "shape" and used to this, but damn that's some traveling. I remember seeing the Carstensen fella ref the Iowa game and then the next day at like 1pm he was in Maryland? Holy crap he had to travel a ways to get out there.

MSU coaches are going to be amped up to intimidate the refs tomorrow night...hope they have some backbone...and it is a fair fight.

Sweep MSU...how sweet...

Austin Blythe and Jordan Walsh could open some driving lanes for the Hawks. And what's more, since it's at the Izzo Dome the refs should let them play!!!

I once found myself in a paintball game with many of the football players. The offensive linemen just laughed off getting hit. It's tt9stupid cAt!!!! defenms.........u getit

Perhaps if Valentine is assigned to the Iowa/MSU game he will want to work towards "redemption" and call the game more fairly...even tweaking Iowa to the good side a bit :)

Or his vindictive side emerges and he figures he gets enough work that to lose future Iowa games is no big deal and he puts it to us.

I am not sure how it all works...or what the history is...but if I were a ref...with some "shady" calls against at team, and suspended from future games as a result...and I get a second chance to do a game...while being closely observed...I would want to make it appear very fair and unbiased.

But...like you say...he might be very angry and waiting to "show" everyone...what they have been missing! Should be interesting.

With his history, it would seem kind of odd to throw him back in the fire at MSU...where MSU loves to and does tend to influence the calls.
