Offense:

Tyler Goodson
- RB, 3 Star, 5.6 Rivals Rating - Set to commit on July 3 - Hawks look to be in good position to land this talented All Purpose Back from Georgia.

David Bell - WR, 4 Star, 5.9 Rivals Rating - Top 100 Player Nationally - The biggest fish left in the pool of possible commits - has offers from all the big boys including OSU & PSU so getting him is HUGE.

Chris Hickman - TE, 3 Star, 5.6 Rivals Rating - Nebraska is working hard to keep Hickman and his fellow Omaha native Henrich in State, so landing either would be a pleasant surprise at this point.

Jacardia Wright - RB, 3 Star, 5.5 Rivals Rating - Most folks think that if the Hawks land Goodson they are done at RB, but I would welcome the opportunity to land another talented RB in this class.

Defense:

Enoch Jackson - DL - 3 Star, 5.7 Rivals Rating - Big Defensive lineman out of Texas that has a ton of big time offers, including Clemson, but still shows interest in Iowa - would be a big get.

Malcom Lee - DE - 3 Star, 5.7 Rivals Rating - Highly regarded JUCO player at Iowa Western Community College - would add to Iowa's already impressive young DL depth.

Tomari Fox - LB - 3 Star, 5.5 Rivals Rating - Just took an official visit this past weekend and almost committed so his interest level is high. Looks to be a Big 10 ready physical specimen.

Nick Henrich - LB - 3 Star, 5.5 Rivals Rating - Similar to Hickman, Nebraska is looking to lock up this talented in State talent - getting him would be a stunner.

As of right now, Iowa's 2019 class is rated as the 27th best Nationally and getting Goodson and David Bell would almost certainly put the Hawks in the top 25.

There are a few other names out there to keep an eye on as well including the Newsom kid from Waverly and Joshua DeBerry (CB out of Michigan).

I'm liking the way this class is shaping up and am hopeful for a strong finish to the class. Getting David Bell would really put the cherry on this class - here's hoping Iowa's passing attack shows some firepower this Fall to help convince him to become a Hawk.

Signing Henrich would not be a stunner at all, if by "stunner" you mean surprised in any way. Same for Hickman and Lee.

Getting Bell over OSU and Purdue would be very, very nice.

As mentioned above Wright is off the board.

I'll keep repeating it.
There is no reason for Iowa to not finish strong.
1) Small number of slots for a large number targets
2) Some kids will be scrambling late in the fall when they lose their coach. Happens every year.
3) Some diamonds will make a name for themselves as seniors.
4) Grad transfer rule. Iowa should be ranked at the end of season for guys looking to finish out their career somewhere else.
5) IWCC. Nice little ace in Kirk's back pocket for as long as he remains HC.

You add up those 5 things and Iowa should be shooting fish in a barrel.

Add in the fact that Iowa has closed out the past several classes landing guys like Alaric Jackson ('16 class), Geno Stone ('17 class), Ihmir Smith-Marsette ('17 class), Daviyon Nixon ('17 class - when we originally landed him), Spencer Petras ('18 class), Dallas Craddieth ('18 class), and Jayden McDonald ('18 class) .... it appears like the Hawkeye coaches are pretty good at topping off our recruiting classes with really nice talents!

Yes, I think they've gotten better at finishing classes. There were some years in the past when it looked like they were throwing out at a scholarship to the kid with the most MAC offers. That whole "gentleman Kirk" thing where we don't steal other commitments cuz that wouldn't be classy .
Since Brian has come aboard that tactic has been employed less and getting aggressive with other P5 commits late in the process seems to be more popular. Petras last year is a nice example.
I don't ever want another fan on this board to lecture the fanbase with: "We don't contact kids who've given their verbal elsewhere. It's morally wrong."
**** ****!!!
I want good players and I don't care what we have to do to get them (as long as we aren't violating NCAA rules).

I guarantee that if Goodson doesnt end up at Iowa, the staff is going to look silly.

Ok. I just think it seems like the masses have assumed that without much proof. I think it entirely possible that Brock's situation has nothing to do with Goodson. I hope I am wrong. Wright has multiple positions and reportedly has quietly outshined some others. Who knows.

I really like Wright too. I wish we had room for him but it does look highly probable that Goodson commits. He has a high school teammate on campus, is compared to Wadley and probably sees what he can do in our offense, and a number of predictions have been made in our favor. He was our only spring OV as well, and it was his first OV. We made a good impression early!

The more and more I think about the Brock issue I believe there is more to the story. Honestly did any of you have the IWCC RB on their radar before he agreed to come to Iowa? Then follow that up a couple days later by telling the RB who've been on our big board for a couple years sorry no more room. Now we know Ferentz can be stubborn with his recruiting techniques, but I don't recall them turning down a high quality talent very interested in us. I keep playing the scenario over in my head and it doesn't make sense that we would run out of room for him. And for that reason I believe there is another unknown piece to this puzzle that would solve all the questions

Wright is listed as a ATH who can play RB, WR and all 4 DB positions getting Goodson is not a deal breaker where Wright is considered, Wright falls into the catagory of best availabe player you can find a place for.

another over looked player is Baker who can play RB or LB'r that the coaches are recruiting at LB.

recruiting at this point with limited scholarships you take the best Athlete to put at a position to be determined later. this is where KF excels at.

I am feeling good about #14 being Goodson, great speed and very elusive. He has to like the great O-line coming in. I also think Fox could be 15 great DE prospect. After that probably only 4 spaces left. WR, TE, Athlete and LBer

Really want Bell to follow Britt and Brents to Iowa City but he is trending to Purdue. They already have a couple WR's though. I think OSU has numerous 4 star WR's they are in on so Purdue is the team to beat. If not Bell then maybe scholly goes to someone not on the board.

Hickman will not happen, hasn't visited for a long time. Hoping Henrich's Iowa ties will help but he will probably follow Hickman to stinkin Lincoln. I think a LBer will come later, probably not offered yet.

So where does that leave us? Hawks will probably take one more athlete/DB, could that be Wright? Wright is waiting until after the season, so doubtful a slot will be available. Probably one TE, a athletic type like Fant. Miamen has blown up so doubtful, maybe Stephens but he hasn't visited. Could Carter be the TE they are looking for?

They may take Lee even if Fox commits as a D-lineman. At this point Swarm 19 is getting full, so coaches can be selective. Will be interesting how it all plays out between now and December.
