In a normal country Republicans like Trump, Johnson, DeSantis, Musk, etc wouldn't be allowed within a thousand feet of a school but instead they are some of the most powerful people in the US.

While I may agree they are some pretty sick people, I’d argue that I don’t think I’d have a friendship with many people in politics or many famous actors/athletes/rocks stars etc. for that matter. Yet most of America is putting these types of people on a pedestal.

The problem is the delivery and the lack of education on safe sex. Just because you have a “purity ball” and tell your child sex is “of the devil,” doesn’t mean she is going to adhere to that when she goes off to college.

I always thought purity balls and commitments were stupid. You grab teenagers who are not old enough to decide to have sex and then pressure them to commit not to have sex. If they arn't old enough to decide to have sex they arn't old enough to commit to not having sex.
I have no problem with encouraging your children to wait til marriage to have sex. I applaud that. But making a big formal commitment and having a ball about it is at minimum very corny.
And lets be honest it's a symptom of Christian's obsession with sex. More time and effort should be spent on if Christians are loving neighbors as they love themselves.

I also didn't include a qualifier. You sound like I accused you of something. I didn't.
I agree with all of this, and absolutely abstinence should be taught as the ONLY 100% protection. And it should be taught that having sex at a young age can cause all sorts of harm. But unfortunately these purity movements go way past the bounds of that, causing their own excess harm to young people. And worse yet, as others have pointed out, this is what he wants forced on our kids.
Interesting to see that the House report on Matt Gaetz is going to be released. Johnson did everything he could do to block it from coming out.
