Republican House Member call for an end to the fillibuster

The Filibuster is a tool used periodically by both parties.

How is it un-democratic?

It says page not found. . .

As far as filibusters. . . each party loves them when they are in the minority and hates them when they are in the majority.

I think you could find guys from both parties when they are in the majority talking about how it's a terrible perversion of democracy but using the tactic and/or praising it when they find themselves in the minority.

You do what the Dems did and get rid of it for certain things. You get hit with your own bag of crap eventually.

I only had a problem with them when the filibustering party didn't have to be in attendance.

We have returned to where the congressman is actually having to put in the work and stand on the floor blathering on end. If they want to do that while others try to garner support for their issue, then so be it.

Harry Reid did get rid of them for judicial appointments. I am all for ending the practice entirely. The majority should be able to work its will. The system as it is is broken

Sorry about the link, and now I can't find it. I would like a kind of compromise on this to protect, at least to some extent, the rights of the minority. How about a call from a minority, say 40, forces a vote? Currently, the majority leader forces the agenda and only allows votes on bills that he/she agrees with. If the Senate enacted a standard that any bill would have to have a recorded vote if 40 senators agreed, it would at least allow the minority to have a voice, assuming they could get that number to agree.
