you have provided, for this I am grateful.

Over the last few year this forum has been reeling due in large part to a lack of appropriate and consistent moderation.

I’d like to personally volunteer to be the moderator of this specific forum, for the sole purpose of returning this blog to what it once was. A site for Iowa Wrestling knowledge and opinions to be shared and debated.
Political or religious debates, nor another fan base dominating threads with derogatory comments or personal attacks, should not be allowed. The intent is not to silence or control, rather to direct them to the appropriate forum within Rivals.
I may not be the right individual, however, some person with the above intent and purpose is certainly needed.
If anyone out there can assist, it would be appreciated.

It would be nice if someone could be silenced in a particular thread. You bring up politics, you get silenced from the thread you brought it up in.

I think that would limit the back and forth ridiculous arguments. I mean there’s an OT thread for that specific reason. To keep that shit off the other threads.

Its not a political/religious forum. Its a wrestling forum.

Well a lot of times the discussion begins as a wrestling topic then turns into a political/religous one. eg Sammy Sasso is a victim of a violent crime wherein he is shot during an armed robbery. That segued into a discussion about the current crime wave in our country. 2nd eg AJ Ferrari was charged with sexual assault and folks pointed out the often religous themes in his posts. That segued into a discussion about religion in general. In the offseason there isn’t that much wrestling content to cover. There are a lot of passionate folks on here that have strong opinions and convictions about a lot of different issues. Those strong convictions are likely what drew us to becoming Hawk fans to begin with. I personally enjoy the banter. And the times when I’m not interested in the thread, I don’t read it. This board would get real stale if we started censoring the comments that were “non-wrestling”. My 2 cents.

Were you really coming to HR for the latest updates on a Buckeye wrestler? Allow me to fine tune your search a bit, Google “Sammy Sasso shot”. You will get at least 20-25 different news sources reporting all kinds of up to date info. HR contains some insider info on Hawkeye wrestlers, but mostly it’s banter. It’s also pretty hilarious sometimes.

The fact that you support abortion rights, not banning books in schools, young children being able to choose their gender, genetic males in female sports, allowing people from other countries to choose to live in the US, etc. is great!

To continue to derail threads is sophomoric. When a thread is continually derailed it negates the relevance of that thread. So when new information about the thread becomes available it’s impossible to find. This process repeats itself over and over again. Many people have tried asking nicely, heck they even created a specific thread where nonsense could be talked about. Yet the idiots persist. I’m tired of dealing with the idiots. Eventually all this site will have is idiots because the people who want to talk about wrestling have left to find other locations.
