Today sucked royally but even with Stanley having a horrible game we STILL almost pulled it out.

At this point we still control our own destiny for the most part.

Win out, and have Wisconsin trip up once more (@PSU?) And we go to Indy. Simple as that.

Everyone was down on Iowa after the Wisconsin Debacle and then they came out and woodshedded Minnesota Indiana and Maryland.

I see the same thing happening starting next week.

Even if we dont get to Indy I'm definitely happy with 10-2/9-3 and most likely a NYD bowl.

Beats NYC in December any day of the week.

Go Hawks!!!

Even if we won out which I doubt we win next weekend at Purdue, I have zero confidence against anyone with a pulse outside of the B1G. That’s setting up to get our doors blown off once again. It would be backing in it too.

I can see Wisconsin losing to Penn State. I can also see us winning the rest of the season. Stanley is mediocre, but this was a whole other level. Career low for sure.

At this point, it'd just be funny if we ended up in the championship.

Who cares if you back in?

And I’d rather get slammed in the Rose Bowl than winning the pinstripe.

We have the tie breaker if we beat NW and Purdue assuming PSU beats WI.

We’ve never had any room for error and now it’s a must win rather then need to win situation, but the B1G championship is still within the realm. I don’t expect, but let’s not sell the farm quite yet.

If we win out and there's a 3-way tie between Wisconsin, Northwestern and us, we go to Indy. Overall game record is the tie-breaker. So we don't necessarily need to have Wisconsin lose - only if we'd end up tied only with them. (Then, of course, they'd get the tie-breaker.)

So we just need to win out and see what happens!

We play a Purdue team with a high octane offense that won’t take its foot off the gas. Purdue will beat us like a drum.

Yippee. Another trash also ran bowl game. Tampa is so fun.

Ok, then stay at home.

I will. We’ve lost 5 straight to PSU, 3 straight to Wisconsin, 3 straight to MSU and 2 straight to NW. It was time to end two of these and this was not a vintage PSU or Wisconsin team this year. We dropped them both so if we ‘back’ into the West and that’s a big IF I’m not going to go bonkers over it because it was time to beat quality programs in that process and we did not get it done.

What if we beat Michigan? Will that suffice?

I said 8-4 to start the year thinking that next year would be the year to make a run (still might be). I would be disappointed in that. I am really curious to see how the Hawks bounce back.

Worried about- Purdue
Semi-worried only because we suck against them but think we win- Northwestern
Should win but its football- Nebraska
I will cry if we lose- Illinois

I suspect either a loss to pu or nw. Going 3-1 to close the year our wouldn't be bad at all. 2-2 would be meh. 1-3 or worse, that's just piss poor.

It's maddening. When you look at only 2 plays that go different and the result is probably a win.
1) The overthrow to Hockenson that would have put us up 2 touchdowns.
2) The gift interception that gave them the ball inside the 5 with McSorley out, and a running QB in the game.

They knew when the game kicked off that Sconnie had lost, got gift after gift early in the game and predictably pissed it down their leg.

MSU who arent even that good...took care of that high octane offense. I think we've got a great shot.

This is the scenario I was wondering about. Thanks for explaining. Northwestern besides us has Illinois and Minnesota should win those two. If we win out i'd put it at over 50% we're still going to Indy.
