Kolby Franklin advances to the semis. Almost comically undersized in the qf match. Still found a way to get a td in the 1st and rideout in the 2nd. Opponent was(correctly)called for stalling twice in the 2nd as he really just laid there. Kolby wisely chose neutral in the third. Won 3-0.

Gabe Arnold a must get, really looking quick and strong while giving up a bit of size with the adjusted weight classes. Very nice attack rate and variety including nice leg attacks.

After 2 periods, Franklin down 9-3. Feldman with 4 tds so far.

Couple more tds for Feldman in the 3rd. Wins by major.

Tough matchup for Franklin. Feldman is a monster. Couple that with the size/strength difference and this match could have been much more lopsided. Credit to Franklin for actually wrestling. Had constant motion, and attempted to score some tds.

15-6 Feldman over Franklin. Feldman is just on a different level. He was in an open tourney this year and was majoring previous NCAA qualifiers. This is no reflection on Franklin who is going to be very good and whose best days are ahead of him.

Impressed with Kolby hanging in there vs Feldman.
Yep my thoughts too. He's got the Frame to put on plenty of weight and muscle too. I think he sticks at HWT in college. I also like the fact that he didn't stop shooting on Feldman the whole match, he caught a couple of legs too which is more than anyone did against Feldman the entire tourney.

Franklin is going to be a good one, he has a big motor and good skill set. Feldman must have had him by at least 30lbs and he is a very good and fast heavy, but Franklin keep on coming, he has a heck of a lot of bulk and strength to add if he wants to stay at heavy. I would like to see him stay at 197 and just lean out and get stronger, time will tell.

I don't know about having a heavyweight frame. Plus our cheese would be hanging in the wind at 197.

50 lbs makes a hell of a difference a 195#er vs a Hwt.

Feldman is an absolute brute and quickness to go with. Looks to be 240 to 250 already. The plan of picking a hulk of a 220 with some frame to build on seems to be the best recipe for college 285s. Carroll was able to give him a match but he is of similar build and future 285 himself. Not sure Kueter has the horsepower right now but has the frame and work ethic to get it and will have a nice length advantage.

I believe Feldman weighed in just under 230lbs. Franklin weighed in just under 200lbs.

I also think Kueter competes underweight at his weight... And sure as hell doesn’t cut weight to get there.

Will be interesting to follow each of their careers along with Carroll.

i thought franklin looked great all day, getting the leg and getting outside so as not to get caught under guys 40 pounds heavier. feldman monster and franklin took no steps backward. i have not seen alot of kueter but if i had to wrestle feldman 3 times a year i would stick to football(less hard impacts):)
