Wyoming Seminary is sending its B team to the Beast of the East

If Pat Mineo is to be believed it’s irrelevant because he’s leaving Wyoming Seminary, done with HS wrestling, and moving to Iowa. Seems like the kind of thing Mineo knows.

Riggins takes out #1 Magayna 8-2, and #1 Fox 14-4 today.. Impressive. Thought this was worthy of this thread. Riggings gets to the legs so effortlessly for an upper weight kid. So glad he’s a Hawkeye.

Will be interesting to see if they have him potentially go at 157 next year.

He is a beast. Gets to the legs all the time. Even when he loses matches. His match at Fargo with Barr. Unreal. Riggins was the better wrestler just didn’t finish. That will be cleaned up in the Iowa room.

This years Junior/Senior class is pretty special. Loads of D1 talent and I would put Riggins in the top 5 for sure! Kid is going to be good.
Agree to an extent. In this class kolby riggins and juesorga are gonna be great. Block is a hidden gem IMO. Riggins will be the best of all !!!

Brief note, Rose Cassioppi, Anthony’s younger sister is entered in the 33rd annual Dvorak (Machesney Park, IL) today. Tough draw, she got the number one (#1) seed in her first match. Another Cassioppi for the Hawkeye wrestling program? It’s a “Family Tradition” at the Dvorak for the Cassioppi's. As Junior would sing.

I think there will be more than 1 more Cassioppi at Iowa.

Anyone know why Kueter didn’t wrestle this weekend?

Nate Jesuroga bumped up to 132 and beat 3 time state champ Evan Frost from Dowling 7-2.
Joel Jesuroga beat twin brother Jacob Frost 3-2 and Joel also bumped up to 152 and beat Robert Avila 6-2.
Hunter Garvin with a close win over Carson Martinson 9-7
Did Garvin Bump there or is that the lighter Martinson?

I found this Burlington Hawkeye (Iowa newspaper) news article worth noting. The article probably not widely circulated, so thought I would pass-along to readers of Hawkeye Report. Former Hawkeyes Jake Kadel, Steven Holloway, and Cash Wilke (all native Iowans) currently head the Weslyan wrestling program. Good stuff.
