It's simple, actually. Todd is considering all commitments as recruits, which makes perfect sense. Not all commitments/recruits are created equal. Iowa actively recruited Riggins and more than likely offered him a decent scholarship; the others will serve as development guys for potential starting roles down the line, serve as workout partners, and serve as ambassadors for the program. All are considered on the team, and D1 wrestlers.

Iowa just signed Jesuroga at 125, even though they have Lee, Cashman, Ayala, Ybarra and Matthews.

Also, those 160lb recruits can cut to 157 if needed, or grow into 165, 174 or even 184lbers in the future.

The same reason the football team recruits multiple running backs, quarterbacks, wide receivers, etc.

Got a lingering knee issue fixed. Tweaked it at WNO in Sept. tried being a knucklehead and play Superman. He’ll should be back in action at the border brawl at NCAA’s against Rojas.
