Retherford

This garbage thread was started by a PSU ass-clown. This thread does not get to Sandusky sans the initial trolling. The fact Clarion took exception and decided to inject his sense of morality only stoked the embers.

We see a ton of PSU trolls on this site. Is it really that surprising that someone would choose to go there when PSU fans come on here and troll?

I'll have to take a pass on the BWI invite but I'm cool with all civil PSU fans on HR.

For the record, I've always appreciated Iowa and the Gable era. No disrespect to TNT meant, just my era. I love to debate but we can all do without the divisive commentary. The NCAA tournament has at least four teams that can win it... what a season what a sport.

Completely understand and agree, but out of curiosity, where was Clarion being an a-hole? I see where a statement was made he took exception to, so maybe that gives him the asshat crown?
And CFNiteHawk, you are cordially invited to BWI. I'm sure you will display the same decorum that I endeavor to display when I'm here.

Don't believe him CF, can't trust a man that dresses like this:

Cael stated he was coming off the flu. I was wondering why he couldn't ride Sorenson on two occasions for 15 secs for the victory. Now we know. He's not the only one with the bug. Should Gilman really be running his mouth considering he hasn't won B-10's or NCAA's?
Fellas (and Wendy), I got this one.

niteowlgt,

I can see by your post that you are a basketball player like myself. Let me say this, "Welcome to the world of wrestling !" Being that you are a newbie to the sport, let me explain a few things that will help you understand the differences between wrestling and basketball.

A wrestler will cut 20 pounds to make weight. And what would a basketball player do? Eat.

A wrestler will wrestle the entire NCAA tournament with tears of the posterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments in their right knee and finish in 7th place. What would a basketball player do? Have surgery with 6-9 months of recovery in order to go half speed.

When I was in JH, I went to the Fieldhouse one day in the summer to play pick up ball. When I got hot, I stopped playing and got a Coke from the vending machine. There was a wrestler, with a sweatsuit on, running the stairs. When he got hot, he kept running.

I had a flu in HS school once. I stayed home in bed and missed the basketball game. Do you know what wrestlers do when they have a flu? They wrestle.

Wrestlers wrestle no matter what.

Anyway, just wanted to help out. Don't want you to embarrass yourself.

Hey niteowlgt, I'm the one who assumed on BWI that all the middle weights had the flu. No one else. I have been proven wrong. I was being ignorant. Hopefully it won't happen again.

Clarion is in no way defending "him". Trust me when I tell you, no one hates that vile creature more than Penn Stater's. Having said that, we do get our fur in a fluff when "he" gets mentioned in a thread as it is an insult to all of us, which is possibly, or likely, the intent. Unfortunately, it reflects negatively on you also, as casting such aspersions are not only untrue, but classless and unnecessary. Ban me if you must, but this is the truth.
You made your first mistake when you said"trust me". Why is it an insult to you when the creep gets mentioned and why do you "assume" that my friends post was "intended to get you penn staters pissed off? I don't give a shit if you penn staters got your feathers ruffled up. I think your defending the pedophile creature.

They defend each other and defend Sandusky. I just don't get it. They have their own board, but continually feel the need to come here and set us straight. It seriously blows my mind. I guess one day I'll wake up and all of a sudden give a rip as to what they have to say. Not.

I posted a reply to the OP previously on this thread

just to put this OP comment right ...I was at practice today and both Cael and Zain said there was no 'flu' ....Zain in fact was very complimentary of Brandon's effort and game plan

Here is Carl's interview. He says something like Zain wasn't feeling great and then immediately back tracked and complimented Sorensen. I don't know Carl well enough to know if he intentionally let the "zain is sick" mention slip or if he truly didnt mean to make the excuse.

May have had that excuse all cued up for any time his wrestler doesn't get the result he was hoping for. Quote slipped out and immediately backtracked as he knew he might be called on it. Or . . . Zain was sick/slightly under the weather. He used the excuse, immediately regretted it and now they are just denying it as an excuse (as TNT would probably do). Or . . . The poster that said Carl and Zion (isn't he good enough to have his name misspelled) said he wasn't sick is not telling the truth.

not sure what your problem is....I was standing there talking to each of them and they both said 'flu' was not an issue... so from what you wrote you are calling me a liar...amazing

Not calling you a liar at all. Sorry if it came across like that. I could think of three possible scenarios. Listed them in order of what I thought was the probable likelihood. I don't know you, you are a new poster and so thought there was a possibility you were "pulling our leg". I definitely appreciate your input. Welcome.

Cael's comment could totally be taken as Zain was in a match that was pushing him to a point where he was affected more than usual. = Not feeling good. Getting the Flu from this comment is a stretch.

Anyone that has watched Sorenson over the last few years could tell that he was wrestling at a pace he has never tried to wrestle at. Sometimes it takes a guy like Zain to raise someone elses level. After watching that match there is no doubt in my mind that Sorenson has the gas tank, strength and skill-set to beat Retherford. Not only that, if he continues to wrestle at that level, he will crush anyone else that is not willing to wrestle at that pace. Which is most likely everyone else at 149.

was just trying to correct erroneous and kinda inflammatory info from the OP ..visit here to read a lot because this is a great wrestling board ... as I said Zain was very complimentary of Brandon's effort and game plan .... he was well prepared ..Zain for all of his ability on the mat is an extremely humble and approachable young man ..as it appears that Brandon is also from what I am aware of him

This. I hope that match was a sort of rebirth for Brandon. He had began to be content because his head/hands defense is so damn good he forgot he had offense. If he wrestles every match like that, he's absolutely destroying anyone not named Zain.

I think a comment about the Penn State white singlets derailed this convo into pedophelia.
As a father of teenage daughters I agree that the white singlets are almost see through and gross.
I usually don't step into my daughters fashion choices but I always told her mother never to allow her to wear a white bathing suit. Same should go for white singlets.

I don't suppose I should ask for a pic of your daughters?

That's on me. I was playing with the flu idea (actually was thinking norovirus) and how white singlets would be dangerous if you had the associated symptoms. Intended nothing sexual at all.

Noro has been going thru our preschool here in Chicago.

Everybody knows your not supposed to wear white after labor day! I used to buy all brown boxer briefs especially during my Turkey drinking days! Gobble Gobble

I guess we will find out if it's a rebirth or just a really good night for Sorensen. I will be disappointed if he isn't in deep on at least one shot vs Jordan this wekeend.

I agree. If Sorenson had wrestled at that pace (and aggressiveness) he would have beaten Collica.

He has shown it a few times in his career. Example: Many picked Collica over him at Kinnick. Sorensen almost majored him...took plenty of shots too IIRC. High energy, high pace. He tends to slow it down and be cautious against tougher guys though, kind of like Gilman did against Suriano. This is where break throughs need to be made IMO...as the great Bodhi Zephyr once opined: "Fear causes hesitation...hesitation will cause your worst fears to come true."

Hearing reports from out East, sounds pretty legit. Carl had a headcold and a double ear infection. Before the meet he walked by Hall and heard him say, "Pull my shirt off or I'm done with our relationship. "

Well, come to find out Hall was actually talking to his girlfriend and said, "Take your skirt off or I'm done with this relationship. "

Just think, a Z pack could have been the difference between an undefeated 4x champ and a one loss 4x champ. SMH

Yeah you're right Cael must not know what he's doing. I mean we only won 5 out of the last 6. When was your last team title?

Just make sure Special Agent Utah doesn't catch you hanging out with Bodhi chief.

Vallholl, yes I was a b-ball player My alma=mater lost one conference game in 5 yrs' This included a state title plus a starting guard for Portland's only NBA championship. . My deceased father-in-law was head wrestling coach at Mansfield, Pa. in the early 60's. They were also ranked and he tried at Greco-Roman for the Olympics. His stories about scholly allotment bucks you would find interesting. This past year I was about to write off Hawk grappling, but no, coach Jody S. keeps on bringing Pa. stars to the corn belt (maybe a saving salvation since Ia. wrestling isn't producing many stars). Gilman and Clark leave this year plus Sorenson the next. In about 2-3 yrs' there will probably more Keystoners starting for the Hawks than the same for the Nits. It wasn't too long ago on this board your posters were saying Brands days have passed. Then came the Lee-Teasdale shocker. In Cael we trust. Oh, by the way, all child molesters should be executed. Enjoy another year off the podium. Talk to you in March after your 4th place finish.

I don't know if you're aware or not, but 4th place finish = on the podium.
