Retherford

Vallholl, yes I was a b-ball player My alma=mater lost one conference game in 5 yrs' This included a state title plus a starting guard for Portland's only NBA championship. . My deceased father-in-law was head wrestling coach at Mansfield, Pa. in the early 60's. They were also ranked and he tried at Greco-Roman for the Olympics. His stories about scholly allotment bucks you would find interesting. This past year I was about to write off Hawk grappling, but no, coach Jody S. keeps on bringing Pa. stars to the corn belt (maybe a saving salvation since Ia. wrestling isn't producing many stars). Gilman and Clark leave this year plus Sorenson the next. In about 2-3 yrs' there will probably more Keystoners starting for the Hawks than the same for the Nits. It wasn't too long ago on this board your posters were saying Brands days have passed. Then came the Lee-Teasdale shocker. In Cael we trust. Oh, by the way, all child molesters should be executed. Enjoy another year off the podium. Talk to you in March after your 4th place finish.

With Stoll out of the line up I'd actually be happy if the Hawks achieve a 4th place finish.

I don't like focusing on any excuses about Zain. All I know is, I was worried for the first time in almost 2 years that Zain might lose. Sorenson brought it and deserves every bit of the recognition that you guys are givin him (especially following his performance against Collica). That said, I will be open to taking Zain-Sorenson bets later this season.

No one has commented on the fact that during almost three minutes of overtime Retherford did not attempt one offensive shot. In one case taking THREE steps back to avoid a shot by Sorensen. You can bet if it had been anyone else a stalling call would have been made.

I think all trolls from other schools should be executed. How insecure do you have to be to go to a diff teams site to talk shit. Just consider yourself lucky that Carl trolled his alma mater and is a selfish human being and finally showed PSU what wrestling was as nobody from PA was ever able to do before. Guess who finally was able to show Ohio State how to compete. And Vag Tech. And Minnesota. And....Young Guns.

Please enlighten us on the PA and PSU coaching pedigrees around the country maximizing the results of today's college wrestlers.

Ok. Slow day at the office. Your post triggered my recollection of the 2008 Big Ten finals, when Metcalf wrestled Schlatter. Down 2-3, with about 1:45 left in the 3rd, Metcalf fired off, by my counting, seven shots, before converting on the 8th, with just a few seconds to go. That was Metcalf's first year in the line-up. Schlatter was a former NCAA champ. Everyone knew Metcalf was good but no one really knew how he would fare against his old nemesis. His relentless really set the standard. Link below.
