Isn’t the United States one of the only nations that promotes pharma drugs tv?

If I don’t have to see those dumb commercials anymore I’m good with it
Being serious for a change, I would not mind them if they were only about 20 seconds long and not 2 minutes. They could never be that short though because it takes 30 seconds to run the side affects of the drugs

I always wondered why a drug that has to be prescribed by a Dr gets advertised? Can’t you go to your Dr and tell him/her your symptoms and they prescribe the appropriate treatment? Is the advertising just for getting people to “think” they need that drug? I am good at not seeing them and wouldn’t really care one way or another, other than the legal aspects…

If you had a sense of purpose and perspective in life you wouldn’t need any medication. Staying out of bathhouses would help also.

Yeah and we are pretty much the only country that makes you figure out your own healthcare.

Basically lived in England every summer growing up. Never a commercial, also healthcare you could rely on.

New Zealand also has drug ads.

I asked my doctor about this exact thing once. Doctors used to rarely deal with patients who self-diagnose. Now it happens all the time.

We don't agree much but I am with you on this one. My only question is, will drug companies lower costs for Americans since they don't have to spend billions on tv advertising? Probably not.
I highly doubt it cause cash rules everything

You seem to have an infatuation with bathhouses - did you have a bad experience (or 30) in a bathhouse?

Just another one of those projectionist MAGA - talk about suckin cōx and bathhouses incessantly - but you're not gay!

They'll likely direct all their advertising dollars onto their websites,.. I'm fine with that.

rfk jr may want to do this

the rest of the trump admin? even if they were allowed to ban the commercials, pharma companies would throw a few $$$ at trump and have him doing personal testimonials from the white house lawn like we saw last week with tesla

there's a fair amount of things i agree with rfk jr on

the problem is that nearly all of those things would require MORE regulation, MORE intervention from the federal government or standing up to corporate interests... and i don't know how anyone can pretend that this administration will go along with any of that

instead they'll indulge his kooky medical opinions (and that's all they are) because it aligns with their "smash all federal government capacity" agenda

Every bit of this. I'm all for tighter regs on what goes into our food...but I also remember the GOP heads exploding when the mayor of NYC tried to outlaw giant-sized sugary drinks and the red-faced rage displayed by posters like @The Tradition when Michele Obama tried to make school lunches healthier. Absolute fury that football players might be denied a Hobbit-like second lunch in the fight against childhood obesity. Their hypocrisy is boundless.

Gee, let's talk about that....

(1) No one elected Michele Obama to be in charge of anything.

(2) "Healthy" lunches means most of that healthy food went into the garbage can instead of children's tummies.

(3) If kids can't (or won't) get enough to eat from the school cafeteria, there's an entire world out there where food can be obtained. Trying to fight obesity that way was absurd. It's like liberals think the only food children get comes from the school cafeteria.

the school lunches were part of a law...passed by congress and signed by obama (all of whom were actually elected)

michelle obama lead (read: was the public face of) a public health initiative that sought to reduce childhood obesity through a focus on exercising more and eating healthier

of course, this was communism

the exact thing that all the MAKE AMERICA HEALTHY AGAIN people are asking for...i guess obama's wife saying it made it bad

Explaining reality to Trad is a waste of time.
