The story is watch how hard pharma will fight this. Their ads create a big revenue stream for them because patients will ask their doctor about the name brand drug and the doctors don’t have time to argue alternatives or generics so they just write the drug the patient asks for. Big pharma absolutely knows this works and it’s $$$ for them.

I'm actually in favor of this. It's not suppressing access to medicine. It's suppressing the costs associated with the marketing of drugs directly to consumers who lack the knowledge to base these decisions on anyway. Most countries ban the practice already.
