Rider competed in the Keystone Classes yesterday. Here are few match notes for Friday.

125- It will either be Wert of Tropea. They had a match yesterday and Wert won in double OT on a stall call. Wert went on to take 2nd and Tropea 3rd. Hoping whoever they put out there Stickley gets the win.

133- Cefolo lost in the semi's yesterday and then MFF out of the tournament. No clue if he will get the call on Friday. I expect Laux to win this.

141- Dippery is a good wrestler and this match should tell us where Turk is right now. Dippery took 2nd yesterday losing to Cortez 4-3. I hope the Turk hype is real and gets the win here.

149- Fluri took 6th yesterday and i expect BS to bonus here.

157- Kem will have another good wrestler in Clagon if he wrestles. Took an injury default in the semi's yesterday and took 6th. If he is in I expect bonus from Kem.

165- Walsh beat Bethea in the finals yesterday and is ranked 4th at the weight. I would expect to see Young win this by dec or lose by dec.

174- Stinson took 6th yesterday. I expect a win from Gunther here.

184- Fagg-Daves took 4th yesterday and I expect Bowman to win by dec or lose by dec here.

197-Laird took 5th yesterday. I expect Wilcke to win here.

285- Cloud took 6th yesterday and I expect Stoll to bonus here.

I’m excited to see to 141 and 165. Dippery is good but I expect Turk to win handily and open some eyes nationally. He kept it close with Cortez who lacks offense but I don’t see him hanging with Turk. I think we see a MD here.

As for Young, this will tell us a lot about what we have with him. Walsh is really good so if Young can win then we have legit AA potential regardless of the Marinelli situation.

Another note I forgot that IMART will be in Poland for U23. It's the 21-26th, freestyle last? Wonder if he will be in IC for the Dec 1 Dual. I figure he would be. iMart is a machine.

I don't see any TV coverage for this dual. Is there? Thanks. Go Hawks!!!

Rider probably has their best dual meet team ever if healthy. Very tough up and down. The addition of transfers Cefelo/South Dakota..Dippery/Rutgers and Dinmore/Penn State are huge. They won't beat Iowa but they should score some points and be competitive. You never know what Clagon your going to get.If he wrestles at all.

I'll take Dippery at 141

Rider is bad. Fans that paid for Iowa City duals tickets should get in free for this meet. It's the same competition. Just another tune up.

Rider will have 6-7 ncaa qualifiers this year.Teams like Rider,Buffalo and ND St deserve respect for scheduling Iowa.If you ever talk to Tom ask him how hard it is to schedule non conference duals at Carver.Iowa can't have a schedule where they wrestle 14 duals all against top 20 teams

I appreciate all of your opinions. I still think Rider is bad. Should be a blowout.
I say Iowa 29 Rider 9
Thats giving Rider 125 141 165
Rider at 149 Dinmore 157 Clagon will win 70% of the time they just wont be beating Sorenson or Kemerer

There is a point when it changes from opinion to fact. Rider will win some matches, and some of their losses will be close.

They are not a bad team. More importantly, at least six or seven Hawks have a good test in front of them.

Buffalo won a couple of matches against us too, but I don't think they are a good team. Rider is bad. They have a few decent guys. Sorry, I'm not very excited about this one.

125 is 50/50 at best. Leaning towards a Rider win. 0-3 Rider.
133 Laux by Dec 3-3
141 is 50/50 and Carver magic helps Turk get the win. 6-3 Hawks
149: Sorensen will get the fall 12-3 Hawks
157: Kemdawg gets atleast a major 16-3 Hawks
165: Young guys out a win here 19-3 Hawks
174: Gunther in a snoozer 21-3 Hawks.
184: Bowman acres another win 24-3
197: Wilcke gets a Dec 27-3
Hwt: Stoll with the fall! 33-3!

Both 125 pounders Rider has i believe are better than the NDSU kid who stuck Stickley i expect a rider win at 125. If Ceffolo goes i expect a competitive bout at 133 same for 141. Dinmore is a PSU transfer who is Pretty good but never the less i see Sorenson winning. Clagon appears to have a concussion so i don’t expect him to go against Kemerer. I watched Young wrestle and I’m not as sold on him as others Walsh is a 2x AA who will hit you with anything i expect a rider win there. Everything after 165 i expect to be competitive bouts but lean Iowa from 174 up

I doubt if you'll see former AA BJ Clagon in this dual. He seemed to have suffered a head injury in Keystone Semi like NY94 posted.
Too bad if he doesn't wrestle. I definitely think he would get beat but he always puts on a show good or bad and it's entertaining. Crazy athletic talent with about 2/3rd gas tank.

I’ll take Walsh by major or pin. He is legit top 5 and a pinner. Young isn’t even top 15 right now.
I would take Young, that he will be neither pinned or majored. He has been fighting hard with meyer lately and he is going to surprise. Only way he gets majored is if he gets caught trying to force a move. He is sometimes overly aggressive, which isn’t always bad.

Walsh cradle is how he gets majored/pinned. If that happens.

Looks like it is just on hawkeyesports.com and you can get a 24 hour pass for $7 or you can buy a monthly pass for $10. According to the schedule, this is the only dual that is on the hawkeyesports schedule
