RIP Dabney Coleman

One of his best roles was in a terrible movie called Hot to Trot. John Candy provided the voice for a talking horse. It was a disaster, but Coleman must have had a ball shooting it.

One of my all-time favorite movies as a kid.

Enjoyed him in Short Time. Played a Cop a day or so before retirement. That learns he has a terminal illness with a few days to live. So spends the rest of the movie trying to get himself killed in the Lin of duty. Because it leaves his son with a huge inheritance. It’s a comedy btw.

So good at playing the unlikeable characters. Not evil types. Just sexist, egotistical, lying…. Types.
He was at the top of his game in the little-watched Buffalo Bill tv series. Co-starred Geena Davis, pre-Designing Women Meshach Taylor, pre–Night Court Charlie Robinson. Sadly, not enough people tuned in.

I'm very surprised.

to hear that until this weekend he was still alive. He seemed old when I was young, and I'm old.
