RIP Flip Saunders

He played BB at Minnesota for perhaps the biggest thug coach (Bill MUsselman) the B10 has ever had. Great teams and better kick-boxers.
He was the "pre-game" entertainment with his "Harlem GlobeTrotter" pre-game drills used to fire up the Gopher faithful. However, he was a Gopher and played with a bunch of thugs. If memory serves me correctly...tOSU's Luke Witte was intentionally fouled towards the end of a game by a guy named Clyde Turner.....another Gopher named Corky (yes! Corky) Taylor "helped" Witte off the floor and then kneed Witte in the nuts......Witte went down again and the Ron Behagen (who had fouled out earlier) came from off the bench and flying drop kicked Witter in the head...doing some permanent damage to Witte. This was a typical Musselman team....full of thugs he couldn't control......too bad for Saunders, he was a member of this mess. Musselman could win games...he just needed unsavory folks to do it.

Good coach and a good person. Always enjoyed hearing Flip with Dan Barreiro on KFAN for Flip's Friday Funkadelic.
Can't link it to my phone but if you go to KFAN's Fb page Dan wrote a great piece on Flip.
RIP Flip.

Someday we will beat cancer when the gov't and drug companies allow us too.
Which type of cancer?
In what individual?
What are the person's genetics?
Where does the person live?
What environmental exposures does the person encounter?

Too many variables to say "we will beat cancer."

Hodgkin's generally has a higher "cure" rate than Non-Hodgkin's, but there are no guarantees and it sounds like he had some complications from the chemo which is always a risk in treatment.

He was quite a character in the NBA world and will be missed.

At least it probably made basketball somewhat entertaining.

RIP Flip.

I stream his show on kfan often and flip was always honest and I learned something about coaching nba players almost every time.

Way too young.
