The star of “Alice” died yesterday from complications of lung cancer at age 87. Polly Holliday (Flo) is now the only surviving original main cast member from that show.

Me too. Shocked to see she is the last one standing because I assumed Flo was the older cranky waitress in her late 40s even early 50s with the attitude and hair. But that was all her method acting and looking at Wikipedia Polly and Linda were born in same year and both 39 when they started show!

My mom loved Alice. Pretty funny from what I remember. For some silly reason I remember a line where Mel was having an off day, and one of the waitresses returned an order, and Mel sputters out it was a BLT, as ordered! The waitress responded, "You made a bologna, lard, and tuna"!

Im so old I took a date to see Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore in 1974. I always had trouble with the TV show which seemed like a very cheap, cartoonish, version of the film.

We were just watching this two nights ago when I made the comment "I didn't know she was still alive."

Feel kinda bad about that now.
